As most of you probably already know, for the past few weeks I’ve been trying to put together a sponsored readathon in order to raise some money for Cancer Research UK. The idea behind this readathon is for me to read as many books as I possibly can in a week – my target is 15 but I hope to read more. I’ve been in touch with a few authors and they have agreed to donate one or two of their books to me for the challenge and I really couldn’t thank them enough for that! Below is a list of the books which have been donated, the author and where you can purchase them yourself.
1. Afterlife Academy by Jaimie Admans
What it’s about: Dying wasn’t on sixteen-year-old Riley Richardson’s to-do list. And now, not only is she dead, but she’s stuck in a perpetual high school nightmare. Worse still, she’s stuck there with the geekiest, most annoying boy in the history of the world, ever.
In a school where the geeks are popular and just about everything is wrong, Riley has become an outcast. She begins a desperate quest to get back home, but her once-perfect life starts to unravel into something not nearly as great as she thought it was. And maybe death isn’t really that bad after all…
Welcome to Afterlife Academy, where horns are the norm, the microwave is more intelligent than the teachers, and the pumpkins have a taste for blood.
2. The First Christmas Without You by Michelle Betham
Jessie Collins has always wanted to visit Lapland. But this Christmas, more than any other, it’s the place she feels she really needs to be as she tries to come to terms with a future she really needs to start living.
3. How Do You Voodoo? by Janice Horton

In her attempts to get un cursed she finds herself taking part in a rather unconventional funeral, involved in a voodoo ritual, reveals one or two unrests in her own past and falls madly in love with a doctor.
Erm, that would be a witch doctor, right…?
4. Voodoo Wedding by Janice Horton
All they need now is a venue and a guest list, but before Nola can have the wedding of her dreams, she has to deal with something old, something new, something borrowed… and something voodoo!
5. Voodoo Child by Janice Horton
What it’s about: In ‘Voodoo Child’, ex-celebrity UK fashion model Nola and her handsome Haitian husband Louis are expecting their first baby. But as one precious life begins another is about to end. The voodoo isn’t over for Nola or for Louis!
6. Love in a Hopeless Place by Emma Calin
What it’s about: A mature woman stumbles into a discovery of herself that she had never suspected. Her own desires and their uncontrollable consequences leave her no option but to go forward. Even as her emotional and sexual need drive her on, there are no certainties ahead.
As her previous life crumbles behind her an unexpected and inappropriate ally appears from the rubble to help her onwards. Maybe now she will be free to explore her new world in which she is still an innocent?
7. Escape to Love by Emma Calin
What it’s about: Even in the barren wasteland of urban decay new green life is possible. In Nature and in Love,
that which can be, somehow finds a crack, a corner or ledge and grasps its chance of life.
A woman on the run from domestic violence with no one but her vulnerable autistic teenage child as a companion, lives in isolation and fear. While her hand to mouth scenarios are played out in the shadow of a threatening suspense, a story of crime and love unfolds around her. She cannot risk her child. Her own longings for love and romance have to take a poor second place. When the fallout from a prison break, a hero rescue and a murder mystery crash through her door and into her need and loneliness, it is no longer a crime story. It is a question of when Love in itself is a crime and how far a woman will go in its name and for those she loves.
