12 Fun Things To Do With Your Family

If you’re looking forward to spending some quality time with your family, you might want some ideas to help you have as much fun as possible. Depending on what your family likes to do, there are hundreds of options. Here, I thought I’d share with you 12 of my favourite ideas to have some fun!

  1. Have a Picnic

A picnic with the family is a cheap and cheerful way to spend time together. Head to the park or one of your favourite outdoor locations. You can even have one in the garden! Make a selection of snacks and you’re good to go. Don’t forget to get a chiller to make sure nothing goes off!

  1. Go Hiking

Hiking is a healthy and enjoyable hobby for any family. You could buy a book filled with recommended hikes in your area and work your way through it.

  1. Have a Movie Night

Movie night is a cheap way to spend lots of time together with your favourite films and a load of snacks. Popcorn is actually a fairly healthy snack if you get the right stuff, so don’t worry about giving it to your kids to munch on! If you’re not into movies, read instead. Doing this together is still a great bonding activity.

  1. Have a Games Night

Games night is so much fun and you’re all bound to have a laugh together. Games like Monopoly, Scrabble, and Cluedo are all classics that kids should know how to play. There are endless options though! You could even try your hand at a couple of card games!

  1. Go to the Cinema

If you have more of a budget to play with, the cinema could be a good idea. Going to the cinema to see a new film is always a lovely treat, and your children will remember these moments for life!

  1. Feed the Ducks

Feeding the ducks will cost you as much as a loaf of bread. It’s something that has been done for years, and with good reason! It’s cheap, cheerful, and fun for everyone!

  1. Go to a Theme Park

Theme parks are an exciting day out for the entire family. There’s a theme park for all budgets and ages, so make sure you do some research to find the perfect one for your family. And not all theme parks are specifically designed for thrill seekers!

  1. Make Something

Why not have fun making something together? You could make anything. YouTube has thousands of tutorials, so ask your kids what they want to make and make a start on it!

  1. Go to the Beach

The beach is a great place for you all to relax or build sandcastles. You can paddle in the sea, ride donkeys…the lot! I’m always at my most relaxed by the sea.

  1. Head to a Museum

Museums are educational for kids, and really interesting for parents too. Everybody can learn something at a good museum! If you’re in or around London, the Science and Natural History museum are free.

  1. Go on a Bike Ride

A bike ride is another good way to keep the family fit! You don’t need to do a long bike ride to have a great time.

  1. Cook

Kids love to cook, so why not pick a new recipe to try together? You’ll then have lots of fun eating it! Put your Mary Berry hat on!

Which of these will you do with your family? What else do you enjoy doing as either a family or a couple?

  1. Sadly my family is not the kind of family to go out and do things. 😄 But these are some lovely ideas that are so perfect for families to do together, especially with small children.

    1. Aww, that’s a shame! I gotta say, mine are kinda the same. Me and my boyfriend do things a lot though but it’s difficult to find fun, cheap things to do. Everything’s SO expensive these days! xx

  2. Great ideas ☺️ I need to visit my family more as I love far from them, and things like games nights and picnics help to lessen the awkwardness a bit!

  3. Some great ideas here, its been exceptionally wet in my part of the world this year and I’ve been struggling to find things for us all to do. Going to try some of these out later, once we come back from feeding the ducks!
