If you love reading blogs, why not start one for yourself? I am sure you have loads of interesting things to say. If you want to start a blog, it is much easier than you might imagine. The main thing that holds people back is fear. They worry about what people will think of their writing and whether they will like it. Forget what other people think. If you want to share things with the world, get out there and do it. First, read my tips!
Tip 1 – Choose an original subject
There are hundreds of thousands of blogs out there, and so yours needs to stand out if it can. So, how can you make sure that people notice your posts? Well, the first thing I’d suggest is that you should choose an original subject. Think about what your interests are and what you enjoy reading yourself. You can turn your passions into the perfect subject for your blog. Remember, you need to write about what you know. Before you start posting, research the area as much as possible. Make your subject niche! So, instead of writing about fashion, write about fashion for 20-something ladies.
Tip 2 – Find the right platform
When it comes to setting up your blog, you need to find the right platform for you. What it often comes down to for people is WordPress versus Blogspot. The best advice I can give you is to look at the pros and cons of both these sites. That way, you can start to decide which one is right for you. It might even be useful to test each of them out as well.
Tip 3 – Work on your writing style
Communication is key when it comes to writing your blog. I’ve read many blogs that sound dry and boring. That’s not what you want at all! Instead, you need to find a writing style that suits you. When you write, imagine you’re talking to a friend. That way, you will find that you can write in an informal manner. Often, people sound like they are writing a formal letter when they blog. This form of media should be casual! Let’s keep it that way, eh?
Tip 4 – Keep at it! (No matter what)
Sometimes, bloggers tire of writing before their blog takes off and becomes popular. You don’t want to make that mistake. Instead, you need to ensure that you keep your blogging mojo going strong. There will be times when you don’t feel like writing, but you have to push through and keep at it. When more and more people start to see your posts, it will be worth it.
Tip 5 – Share, share, share
The final bit of advice I want to give you is to share your posts everywhere. Share them on Facebook and share them on Twitter! Post them in groups online and on notice boards. You need to use social media to your advantage. The more people that see your posts, the more popular your page will be.
I know that there are loads of budding bloggers out there! I can’t wait to read all your posts… Come on, I know you can do it.
