When in doubt, when you cannot think of a single blog post to write, do a tag post. That’s my number 1 blogging philosophy. So today, I have stolen the 13 Personal Questions Tag from It’s Just Me Hayley D (hope she doesn’t mind!) even though her post was over a year ago – better late than never, right?! I sometimes like these rambly type posts where you have to think very little about what you’re going to say and just let your fingers do the talking. So enjoy my rambles! And be sure to check out Hayley’s post.
What do you order from Starbucks?
I don’t order anything from Starbucks because I think the last time I went to Starbucks was like 4 years ago! *hides and waits to be banished from the blogging world* But when I used to go to Starbucks, I always ordered a chocolate Frappuccino. The Java Chip Frappuccino’s back in the day where amazing – do they do them anymore? I literally have no idea! There’s a Starbucks 5 minutes from me so I will make a conscious effort to rectify this in the next few weeks!
What’s one thing in your closet that you can’t live without?
I couldn’t live without my leggings – boring answer, I know but they are perfect for just about everything. Comfy for days out, comfy for lazy days indoors and perfect sleepwear for if it’s freezing! Gosh, I’m so practical.
What’s one thing most people wouldn’t know about you?
What a difficult question. I’m usually quite open about things and I’ve definitely been more open on my blog and social media recently. I lose track of the things I’ve told people and the things I haven’t! I guess most people wouldn’t know that I’m not a very “girly” girl. Despite the pink and the Disney etc. I love Formula 1, I used to play the drums and listen to heavy metal music, I hate “pampering” myself and shopping and am notoriously bad at it and I love horror films.
Name one thing you want to do before you die.
There is so much I could list here but as you’ve only asked for 1 thing, I will say go to a Grand Prix.
Name one food you can’t live without.
Bananas. They’re not my favourite food (although if I had to choose a milkshake flavour, it would always be banana) but they’re so quick ad easy and convenient. I eat so many bananas because they just get me through hunger. Even if I’m feeling anxious, snacking on a banana usually helps because I know it’s upped my blood sugar level and given me a bit more energy. So genuinely, I couldn’t live without bananas.
What phrase or quote do you live by?
I wouldn’t say I “live” by any phrase or quote but as you all may know, I am a huge quote fan. I love quotes so, damn, much. I have a very vivid imagination so the quote from John Green’s, Paper Towns, “Nothing ever happens like you imagine it will… but then again, if you don’t imagine, nothing ever happens at all,” really, really speaks to me. I love it. I so often imagine a scenario that will never happen or worry about doing something and imagine it will go completely wrong. More often than not, it’s absolutely fine but who knows what would happen if I hadn’t have imagined anything?
What do you like/dislike about the blogging community?
I like the opportunities it’s brought me and the connections I’ve made to authors, bloggers and brand through it. I dislike the pressure I sometimes find myself under – especially working from home at the moment. I also dislike editing photos – bane of my life, because I’m rubbish at it. I also dislike the sense of entitlement so many bloggers seem to have at the moment. We’re no more entitled to anything than anybody else is.
What’s your most listened to song on iTunes?
Pure Shores by All Saints. It’s probably my all-time favourite song.
What kind of style would you define yourself by?
I honestly wouldn’t define myself by any style because I really, really, don’t have one. I dress in what I like and that’s about it!
4, because it’s my birthday. Funny story (sort of funny): When I was in school, I chose GCSE P.E and we all had P.E T-shirts made and could choose a number on the back of it. There was only like 13 of us in the class but me and another girl wanted 4 but we couldn’t both have it. So our teacher said we had to decide who would get it and who had to choose something different so she asked us both why we wanted the number 4. I said because it was my birthday – pretty obvious and standard. The other girl said because her Granddad had died on the 4th of whatever month it was he died on. And I don’t mean to sound insensitive here but what’s the better reason for having the number on your shirt? She made such a fuss I just gave her the number.
Reading is and always will be my number one and most passionate hobby. I could talk for hours about why I love reading but I think the main reasons is because it’s such a timeless hobby. Storytelling: you can’t get much more pure than that. It can bring you so much joy and comfort you in moments of distress. I’ll shh now, I might write a separate blog post about this. Another hobby… Blogging? Although I make some money from blogging, I still consider it a hobby.
Two pet peeves?
Fried egg, ketchup and hummus sandwiches.
