My Favourite YouTubers

I’ve never been a huge fan of YouTube and I’ve never bothered to really watch people, follow people or get to know some of the more “well-known” YouTuber’s. Until around last year. YouTube was never something for me – I couldn’t think of anything worse than talking to a camera and spending hours editing and oh my brain fuzz – and it still isn’t but my YouTube watching habits have grown immensely since discovering – albeit years later than everyone else – some amazing women (and men) on YouTube who I enjoy watching immensely. I seem to have a YouTuber for ever sort of mood and ones I tend to turn to.

Dodie Clark: I love Dodie’s vlog channel and she’s one I like to watch when I’m bored because I just find her so funny. I like the contrast between very light-hearted videos and also extremely serious topics on her channel; she almost has something for every mood I’m in. She’s also a beautiful singer.

Lucy Moon: Lucy is someone I always go to when I’m feeling a bit down in myself and maybe need to focus on my own self-care and mental health. I find Lucy very therapeutic to listen to and I love how focused she is on topics like self-care, mental health and looking after yourself.

Melanie Murphy: I feel like I’m watching a friend when I watch any of Melanie’s videos as I love the bubbly nature of her videos. She also talks about important fucking topics like eating disorders and body dysmorphia and I love her outlook and approach to food. I often find I binge on her food related videos when I’m in a cooking type mood myself!

Grace Victory: Grace is one of the most inspirational women on the internet right now and I love watching grace when I need a bit of life, blog or business inspiration myself or when I need that reminder that you can fucking achieve anything if you work hard.

Evan Edinger: When I need a laugh, I immediately put Evan’s channel on; I particularly love his ‘British vs American‘ series of video collaborations and find myself laughing along with all of them. Evan has an amazing way of making you feel like you’re not alone when watching him as he’s so personable and fun.

Fabulous Hannah: I fucking love Hannah and as a fellow Essex girl I just feel like I totally ‘get’ her. If you need to watch someone who doesn’t take themselves too seriously and is naturally just hilarious, then Hannah is perfect for that. I feel so at home watching Hannah, maybe it’s the shared accent? I don’t know.

I hope you’ll enjoy some of these recommendations, if you don’t watch them already. If you do, who’s your favourite? Any others you would recommend? Let me know!

  1. […] by how our tastes change and the same goes for YouTube as well. Last year, I wrote a post about my favourite YouTuber’s and whilst I still do watch a few of those, the vast majority, I actually don’t. They were my […]

  2. […] Eat breakfast: I never miss breakfast, again, I find this is ‘me’ time. I tend to pop a YouTuber I like on to watch whilst I’m […]

  3. I love this post! I’ve been following YouTubers for YEARS! You asked for some more recommendations and so… Wong Fu Productions, Ryan Higa, Anna Akana, Dante Basco, Prince Ea, VlogBrothers, FineBros, Kina Grannis, etc.

    1. Thank you! I LOVE Anna Akana! She’s so funny I could watch her for hours!

  4. I do love reading these types of posts. Youtube doesnt give the smaller channels enough love i shall check some of these channels out🙌 thanks love leigh | http://Www.imsophialeigh.wordpress.com x

  5. Ooo I haven’t heard of a few of these! I’ll have to check them out!!

  6. I love this post! I will definitely have to check out some of these youtubers – I love fabulous Hannah! <3 😉

    1. She’s great isn’t she?! So funny ☺️ xx

  7. Same. I never really even thought about watching people on YouTube until beginning of this year too! I love the Saconejolys, seriously makes my day, 15 minutes and Johnathon is so funny xx

    1. I think maybe in my case it was because I only really knew of the “BIG” YouTubers – like Zoe and Alfie which I weren’t interested in watching (not saying there’s anything wrong with watching them though!) so I never really bothered to discover others. But once I found one, I found another one and another one and so on! xx

      1. Yeah like my 10 year old daughter watches Zoella and Alfie lol but there is some good stuff to watch on YouTube, it’s just finding it. Xx

      2. Yeah absolutely – I find they appeal to an audience younger than I am (I’m 24) xx

  8. I love Dodie and Evan in particular! I’ll be sure to check the others out, and I recommend Good Mythical Morning (Rhett and Link) because they have such a great community, they are always light hearted and free of religious or political . They do everything from songs they have written themselves, to discussing topics to a game show style format where they challenge and test one another. They could not have had more of a positive effect on my life and they can instantly cheer me with a new post every Mon – Fri during the seasons (Currently Season 11). This comment was so long, so I apologise!

    1. Thanks so much for the recommendation, Hannah! I’ll definitely check them out when I’ve got time. Dodie and Evan are great aren’t they? I love their videos together because they really make me laugh ☺️ xx

      1. You’re welcome, I hope you enjoy! Their videos honestly make me smile and laugh so much! They are both little bundles of joy 🙂 xx

  9. Thanks for the recs! I actually never look at YouTube for book bloggers, but I’ve saved your post and will look into it now. Thank you for your interesting post!

    1. These aren’t really book tubers BUT Lucy Moon does a “Banging Book Club” series where her and 2 other YouTubers chat about their book club read and they are REALLY good videos! 🙌🏻
