Hi all! Continuing with my week of guest posts whilst I’m away on my holidays, today I have a post from Ashley at Blonde Fashion Happy with some tips and tricks on keeping your doggies cool when summer arrives! It’s super important to keep your dogs healthy when it’s super hot out and some of these are really great ideas!
Hey! My Name is Ashley, and I am the creator of the blog Blonde Fashion Happy, which I share my favourite beauty products, life events, my dogs and love for fashion. I’m very excited to be posting to you all! Let’s get started!
Now, with the warmer days heading our way, I am so excited and yet a little worried. Excited to get to be outside playing with my dogs who I like to call my Fur Babies but nervous about them overheating… How are you gonna keep your Fur Babies from over heating?
Of Course having water accessible to them at all times but here are some other ways as well!
Meet Audrey and Oswald
Audrey (named after Audrey Hepburn) is a Puggle which is a Pug and Beagle mix
and my newest addition to my family…
Oswald (named after the batman villain Penguin: Oswald Cobblepot) Boston Terrier.
Their breeds are ones that get over heated quick since they have short snouts and yet they still want to play, so, whilst I am all about having fun with them outside, I want to make sure we all stay cool! Now we go to the Lake or over to my parents and hang out by their pool so they have access to swim, plus grandma is always spoiling them!
Here are some things you may have at your house to keep your dogs cool in the summer:
At my house this is a Doggie Pool because well, my Fur Babies are my kids! We have well water and well I don’t think my husband would be to happy to not be able to take a shower because I used all the water for the fur babies so I grab some bags of ice from the store and fill the kiddie pool up and once the ice melts….. POOL DAY!
Which is something I have ready in the Freezer all Summer long! Super easy!
Fill your ice trays, silicone trays, or the Kong stuffing toys with Chicken broth, water, watered down Peanut Butter or yogurt! You can add some fruit to them TOO!
Freeze and Boom! You are ready for an awesome summer spoiling your Fur Babies!
BE CAREFUL WITH ADDING FRUIT TO TREATS.
Here is a list of safe fruit for dogs: apples, apricots, bananas, blackberries, blueberries, cantaloupe, honeydew, mango, peaches, pears, raspberries, strawberries and watermelon.
What do you do to keep your dogs cool on a hot summers day? I hope you enjoyed all of these ideas and thank you to Jenny for letting me be a guest blogger today. Have a wonderful day!
