I’m all for celebrating milestones. In blogging, in business, in life, damn it if you’ve done something you’re proud of, reached a goal or milestone then you should sure as hell celebrate that – however big or small. I’ve done that since I started blogging and 4 years down the line, I don’t plan on stopping. So… today I would like to celebrate hitting 2,500 unique blog followers. Eeeeek! That may seem like a miniscule number to some, a huge number to others; we’re all on different paths and different points in our blogging “careers” but I definitely believe that we should celebrate our own and other people’s achievements. And for me, hitting 2.5k blog followers is an achievement. Especially after so mny blogging breaks and periods of not knowing whether I even wanted to continue blogging.

I’ve gone through so many bloody ups and downs with this blog; having started as a book blog, I thought that’s where my niché lied. Even thought right at the beginning I had no idea how you even got followers! I thought it was a complete lost cause and I was just wasting my time but nevertheless, the persisted and I kept going and eventually the followers came. But suddenly, I wasn’t happy just book blogging any more so I introduced other types of posts into my blog although predominately, I was still a book blogger.

I think it was around this point that I went on a pretty hefty 6 month blogging break. I can’t even remember why now.. There must have been something going on in my personal life that stopped me blogging. But I came back and all of a sudden, I wasn’t blogging about books anymore. I remember there was a huge period where I only reviewed on Goodreads and my blog was purely “lifestyle”. Although I say lifestyle, it wasn’t really like other lifestyle blogs. It was full of random crap.

And although now I’m book blogging a little bit again – my blog still doesn’t have a niché. It is still full of random crap. But I’ve kinda learnt to love it. I like having the freedom to literally talk about whatever I want without having to worry about fitting in with my theme or what others expect of me. Book bloggers, you can still find book reviews on here. Mental health bloggers, you have plenty of mental health posts to chose from. Even foodies will find the odd recipe here and there. I feel like I’m finally at a point where I’m comfortable with my blog and what I post. And that’s cool.

And new bloggers, you don’t need a niche or a theme to have a good blog.

So just to round up, thank you to all the 2.5 thousand people who follow me, have continued to follow me and who read my poss. I am eternally grateful and have gained so many opportunities from my little Neverland on the internet. Now, let’s get onto some giveaways shall we?

  1. I love tthe groove by UB40 but I listen to alternative music otherwise (there’s no way to dance to that, lol).

  2. Congrats on your blogiversary and here’s to many more! Here’s how I would celebrate: With chocolate icecream cake, terrible 80s tunes, loads of multicoloured balloons, in the Brazillian sunshine. Sound good?

  3. Congratulations! 2.5k is amazing! I love your blog, and enjoy all of your posts. I’m so glad you’ve said you don’t need a niche, as I’ve never had a niche and always felt like maybe I should – so now I feel better about not having one 🙂

  4. Congratulations on an amazing milestone! Great giveaway, I’ve entered The Marble Collector one 🙂 x

  5. Congratulations! 2.5K followers isn’t incredible!! If I even got half of that I’d be a happy bunny! lol definitely gotta enter some of those giveaways!

  6. Congratulations on your huge blogerversary. I’m so glad you are happy with your part of the internet. You are so right, when it’s your space, you can fill it with whatever you like. I imagine it feels quite liberating to be able to post whatever topic you feel like talking about that day.
I entered your giveaway for My Sweet Revenge. I have read good reviews about it.
Hope there are many more blogging years left here in neverland.
    Amanda.

  7. Congratulations! Very well deserved! What an amazing giveaway too so many lovely books! 🙂 I’ve entered quite a few, fingers crossed!
Hmm one of my embarrassing stories involves tequila, trying to impress a guy and falling in the snow!!

  8. Congratulations Jenny! Such a wonderful blog you have.
In answer to your question, it will hardly be a surprise that heavy metal is always my choice of music for everything especially parties!

    1. Hahaha yes Claire! I used to love heavy metal. I still listen to it occasionally as I have such a varied music taste. 80’s, Paramore, Trivium, Katy Perry – you name it!

      1. I do remember us talking about some shared favourites! I sometimes wish I had a more varied taste in music, would make weddings more bearable! 😂

  9. Congratulations! I’ve entered a few of your fab giveaways so to answer the questions –
I would love to have my party in New Zealand, there would be chocolate cake, I would have bunting as my son freaks out anywhere near balloons, and my two favourite party songs are oldies but goodies (a bit like myself) Abba’s Dancing Queen and Five’s Get On Up. x

  10. Happy 2.5k followers party!!! I’m also all about celebrating small and big things. I got up this morning? I’m proud of myself! 🙂
Thank you so so much for the giveaways, they’re so generous! I’m entering all international because I’m often frustrated by not living in the UK xD
One time at a party, I mustered the courage to go and talk to someone who intimidated me, and that person just looked right through me, as if I weren’t there, then turned around and went to the other side of the room! So embarrassing! One time also involved me in a pub, a bra, a Cosmopolitan and cake….

    1. A pub, a bra, a cosmopolitan and cake. That’s the title of your novel right there! Hahaha (; Good luck in the giveaways! So sorry they couldn’t all be International. Must be a pain not living in the UK when it comes down to giveaways haha! xxx

      1. Hahahaha, omg you are so right, maybe I can make it a bestseller xD
Don’t worry, it’s already so so nice of you to have some international prizes! My first reason for wanting to live in the UK is to avoid the heat we get in Bordeaux, haha! But the giveaways are also a great reason :p xxxx

  11. Congrats! and no, 2.5K is by no means a miniscule number! I always enjoy reading your posts and this is so well deserved.

    1. Thank you so much! I’m so glad you enjoy my posts. Agh, I know! I’m so proud of that number. But there will always be someone with more followers than you but that’s fine! xxx

  12. Congratulations on 2.5k Jenny! No one deserves it more than you do! I think I’ll enter all the international ones and give me some hope of winning.

As for my most embarrassing party story . . . It’s too long to go into, but it involved a 21st, food poisoning, and a pair of shoes.

    1. Aww thank you so much (: Good luck in the giveaways! Really sorry not all of them could be international. Postage is a nightmare! Ooh, I really wanna hear this story! xxx
