YOU’VE GOT MAIL! Blogger box swap with @MlleWBlog

I’ve seen bloggers on Twitter taking part in blogger box swaps, snail mail swaps, happy mail swaps and all sort of cute swaps ever since I started blogging really. I’ve had a couple of pen pals but I’ve never done a gift swap before. Until now! Lydia asked if I wanted to do one with her and I loved the idea and joining in with something like this so of course I said yes. Our budget was £5 and we chose ‘stationery’ as our theme. So it was going to be a challenge but that’s half the fun right?

We were free to interpret the theme and the amount how we wanted; e.g. one thing for £5 or lots of little things which add up to £5. It was actually nice to see myself and Lydia going in the complete opposite direction in our approaches to the box! So for my gift, Lydia got me one thing which came to £5. I was delighted to hear it was from Paperchase because seriously, who doesn’t love Paperchase?! And I don’t think I’ve owned anything Paperchase in years.

Lydia got me this gorgeous white and gold polka dot ring-bound notebook. The pages are blank so I’m free to use it for whatever the heck I want. I have decided yet and I don’t want to be too hasty in my decision because I get super sad if I start a notebook and mess it up, haha! The pages are super thick and great quality so I’m thinking something arty, maybe a scrapbook of some kind? Who knows! If you have any suggestions, I’d love to hear them. I’ve never scrap-booked before so if you have any tips then I’d love to hear those too! But I am super happy with my gift, you can never have too many notebooks as a blogger can you?

I on the other hand, went for the ‘lots of little bits for £5’ approach with the bits and bobs I gifted Lydia. But she’ll be able to talk about them more in her own post about the box swap which will be up on her blog here! I loved doing this swap with Lydia, getting a little something in the post really can make your day; or at least your hour. And it’s a great way to connect with likeminded bloggers around the country (or the world!)

Have you ever done a gift swap with another blogger before? Do you like the idea? Let me know!

  1. ahhh that’s such a beautiful notebook!! I do love stationery and have many unused notebooks waiting for that perfect use 🙂 I’m addicted to watching art journaling YouTube videos at the moment so that could be one use – combining scrapbooking with some art-ing and journaling!

  2. That’s so nice. I’ve never done a surprise swap but I like the idea. I’m always worried I won’t know what to buy however (especially if it includes a book and it’s so important to get the right book) so I’ve never tried it so far. Maybe it’ll be one of these things I’ll have to do once though, just to get it off the list of bookish things to do 🙂

    • I’d be a bit worried about doing a book themed one as well, I’d be worried I’d buy a book the persons already read! But they don’t have to be book themed – could be anything! Give it a go (: xx

  3. This is so cute!!! I just did a swap organized through another blog (I can’t remember which one…. oops?) and my package is on its way. I’m super excited for it though!!

  4. Paper chase is my favourite for notebooks but I have at least three that I haven’t started yet because I also hate to mess them up 🙈 I’ve never done a swap but I’d love to! I love getting surprises xx

  5. Aww that’s such a lovely idea! I’ve never seen a gift swap before!
I love paper chase notebooks too, they’re great quality! Will have to check out Lydia’s post to see what you picked for her!

  6. I love box swaps with my blogger friends! That is such a cute notebook, and the little gold detail is really pretty. I prefer notebooks without lines, so I can create each page to be something different. Happy creating!
