ad I don’t do an awful lot of tag posts on my blog but there’s always a few that I can help but sink my teeth into and get involved with! And The Harry Potter Tag was one of them! As I’m sure any Harry Potter fan will agree with! What house am I in? What’s my patronus? What position would I play in Quiddich?

I might not be the most hard core Harry Potter fan (if you want one of those, check out The Dee Who Lived!) but like most, the Harry Potter universe is one that I can’t help but be enchanted by. The creatures, the lessons, the castle – it’s just magical. And I’m yet to find anyone who doesn’t wish that they could have gone to Hogwarts! And like most, Harry Potter was one of the first series I really got into as a kid!

So without further ado, let’s get into The Harry Potter Tag! I didn’t personally make this tag up – I can’t for the life of me remember who it was as it was years ago. So feel free to do this tag yourself on your own blog – I’d love to see your answers!

Let’s get into… The Harry Potter Tag!

1. What house are you in?

Slytherin. I’ve signed up to Pottermore twice (forgot all my details first time, idiot) and I’ve been sorted into Sytherin both times. I’ve also never had the option to choose right at the end of the quiz; where my boyfriend and my mum both did. Every other quiz I do I’m in Slytherin too – so it’s pretty much a slam dunk this one!

2. What is your Patronus?

My Patronus is a Mastiff (again, through Pottermore!) I’m not sure how a Mastiff represents me – big and clumsy perhaps? But I love dogs, so I’m not complaining!

3. What is your wand?

My wand is: Hornbeam wood with a Unicorn hair core, 10″ and Surprisingly Swishy flexibility.

4. What would your boggart be?

This is a great question, I wish they’d create a quiz for this on Pottermore because I’d be down for that. Perhaps death? Or the unknown? Something like that. I’m not really scared of anything physical. Apart from toads – I hate those so perhaps it’d turn into a big ugly toad.

5. What position would you play in Quiddich?

I’d be inclined to say a Seeker because I’m really good at catching things (honestly, my boyfriend could throw me some chocolate from the other side of the garden and I’d catch it with one hand!) but the Seekers get a lot of attention and are under a lot of pressure so I’m not sure how I’d cope with that! If not, perhaps a Chaser.

6. Would you be a pure-blood, half-blood or muggle born?

Well, going by how consistently I’m put into Slytherin with literally every quiz I take, I’d probably say pure-blood. But my mum likes Harry Potter and my dad isn’t interested so it’s probably more so half-blood.

7. What job would you want to have after leaving Hogwarts?

Owning a magical book shop in Diagon Alley, of course! Or if I’m going for something a bit more ambitious maybe a teacher; transfiguration? That’d be cool! Nothing within the Ministry. I’m no good with politics!

8. Which of the Deathly Hallows would you choose?

The wand. I think the cloak would lose it’s novelty after a while. I mean, there’s only so many things you can do whilst invisible. And I think the stone would carry too much pressure and responsibility.

9. Favourite book?

I have a confession… I’ve not read all the books! Sorry! I’m missing the last one. But I will get around to it – I promise! However my favourite book is The Chamber of Secrets because it’s my favourite story-line throughout the series.

10. Least favourite book?

Order of the Phoenix. I just don’t particularly enjoy what happens in that book and film. It doesn’t draw me in.

11. Favourite film?

Again, probably Chamber of Secrets. I just love the storyline in that book/film. But I also loved The Half Blood Prince as a film, I think that was done really well. The Prisoner of Azkaban is another favourite too. Okay that’s 3. Sorry.

12. Least favourite film?

Again, Order of the Phoenix. I just think that one is generally… boring.

13. Favourite character?

Hermione – always! Harry Potter would have died in book one if it wasn’t for Hermione. I love her character arc and what she stands for and she’s always been such a huge inspiration for me.

14. Least favourite/most hated character?

Umbridge, obviously?!

15. Favourite teacher at Hogwarts?

Professor McGonagall, always. Powerful, strong women all the way!

16. Least favourite teacher at Hogwarts?

Can I say Umbridge again?

17. Do you have any unpopular opinions about the series?

Umm… not really. I haven’t seen The Cursed Child and don’t really want to. Is that an unpopular opinion? I thought Fantastic Beast was good but it wasn’t Harry Potter and I’m not in any particular rush to see the second one.

  1. This was so fun to read! I am a massive Harry Potter fan! I’ve read the books and seen the films too many times to count. You can bet I’m going to do this on my blog 🤣🤣

  2. Ahh I love this! I loved them growing up but it’s been a few years since I watched or read them – feel the need to get back to that. I’ve also never joined pottermore so who knows, maybe I’ll surprise myself. And wow for catching chocolate across the garden, that’s impressive!

  3. My favourite character is Luna, she’s so kind hearted and I love her imagination. I guess my unpopular opinion would be that I don’t particularly like Harry all that much. It’s not his fault, I just don’t think he would have got far without everyone else helping him! And I just find a lot of the other characters to be more interesting I suppose

  4. […] it’s the perfect time to do a Harry Potter themed TAG! I’ll be using the questions from Jenny in Neverland. Lets get into […]

  5. I am a total Hufflepuff who loves order of The Pheonix book haha- are we opposites? Lets face it Slytherin have the best colour combo going on though. I read the Cursed Child, I can’t say I was overly impressed *hides*, I can see how it would be impressive as a production though which is more important with plays I guess; but the whole separate acts and touting fiasco puts me off even trying to see it.

  6. The two of us sound so similar! I’m a Slytherin with a dog patronus (beagle) and deep-rooted hate for Umbridge (though who doesn’t hate Umbridge).
I think The Half-Blood Prince is sooo underrated. We really get some in-depth info about Snape’s past and what drives him, which is great considering him being one of the most complicated characters in the series! That brings me… what do you think of Snape? Do you hate him or love him? 🙂

      1. It’s good to hear that he’s not hated by everyone. He does receive quite a bit of hate!
Also, I might steal this tag at some point! Hope it’s alright with you.

  7. […] Booky Place (Rebecca has the best bookish tags over there – you can read the last one I stole here) and it’s kinda like snog, marry, avoid but with books and who the heck wouldn’t wanna […]

  8. I love this tag. Funny, Order of The Phoenix is my favourite book and I thought the movie was the worst one if you compared it to the book. I think Umbridge is as evil as Voldemort, which is why most people don’t like that book.

  9. I am SUCH a potter head I absolutely love this! I think my boggart would get hugely confused between spider, snake, clown, man on stilts and all the mean things my anxiety says haha! I am a Hufflepuff (I’m drinking a cup of tea out of my Hufflepuff mug RIGHT now!). I didn’t know that some people got the option to choose houses, that’s so cool, but I’m happy as a Hufflepuff! My patronus is a Deerhound which I think is pretty accurate as I’m quite loyal but dopey 😉

    1. Your boggart sounds TERRIFYING haha! Imagine that! Yeah my mum and boyfriend both got to choose between Gryffindor and Slytherin at the end; bf chose Slytherin and my mum chose Gryffindor but I never got a choice! I must be a TRUE Slytherin (; maybe I’m the heir… XX

  10. Hi Jenny !
It’s a bit strange cause I did the Sorting Test on Pottermore a few years ago and I’ve been sorted in Gryffindor, but when I did it again last week, I’ve been sorted in Slytherin. So I gess I changed – or else the test is totally stupid !
My favorite character is Draco, and I’m really not able to choose my favorite book since I love all of them…

  11. Such a cool post! my fave character is Neville and my fave book is difficult maybe the prisoner of Askaban. Harry Potter has been a huge part of my upbringing and I love just everything to do with it.
    Lea, xx

  12. Ah Harry Potter, the craze for this when I was younger really passed me by and I didn’t really get into it until the last book came out! Ooops hehe! I am always interested to hear what houses people are in though, I *think* I’m a Ravenclaw! Thank you for sharing your answers!

  13. I am such a Harry Potter fan. What a wicked idea for a post! Love it. So different from standard make up swatches and bitchiness in blogging. Love your writing style too!

  14. This is such a fun post! My unpopular opinion is that Harry is actually pretty useless and wouldn’t get anywhere without Ron & Hermione haha!

  15. Such a cool and easy post to read 🙂 Great answers and I think everyone hates Umbridge. When it comes to Hagrid he is really cute giant with really soft heart. I love him 🙂

  16. I love this tag! I’m a sucker for anything Harry Potter related 😉

All I know right now is that I’m a Hufflepuff, will have to go back on Pottermore again to figure everything else out! I’m torn between Tonks and Hermione as my fave character, and McGonagall is underrated too!

  17. Think I should maybe do this tag too? Ahh I love Harry Potter! I could watch the series again and again and still not bored of them. And uh, I haven’t read all of the books too *hides with you* huhuuu x Ain

  18. Slytherin! That’s so cool. I’m a Ravenclaw and pretty proud of it too! I like the reasoning you gave for choosing whether you would be pure blood, muggle born of half blood. Both of my parents aren’t interested in Harry Potter in the slightest so I suppose that would make me a muggle born? But all of my siblings and cousins love Harry Potter quite a lot and have their houses xD It’s quite the dilemma…

  19. I think you’re the first real Slytherin I’ve come across! I’m a Ravenclaw myself, and most of my friends are Ravenclaws too… It’s fun to meet people from the other houses once in a while.
Also, Order of the Phoenix is my least favorite too. Harry was so… let me keep it nice and say ‘not fun’ in that book.

    x Envy

    1. Awh that’s nice that most your friends are the same house as you! My boyfriend and I are SO Slytherin it’s unreal – every quiz (even the not “proper” ones you get on Buzzfeed) we do, we’re always Slytherin. Oh god Harry was an absolute bellend in that book! xx

  20. So glad I’m not the only one who won’t watch Cursed Child! I’m such a baby about it (after getting spoiled on details I’m NOT a fan of) so I just pretend that it doesn’t exist. 😂

  21. What a fun quiz!! I also did Pottermore twice because I couldn’t remember my login details, and got Gryffindor both times. I guess that means it’s true! And seriously, how could anyone NOT choose Umbridge for least favorite teacher?

  22. I love Harry Potter! Me and my boyfriend have been watching the films again and I’ve been reading the books for the first time. I actually quite like order of the phoenix. I think the only thing I don’t like about it is umbridge. I actually don’t like the first two films that much, especially the second one with Ginny.
