Autumn is upon us! Technically, it started on Friday 22nd September in the UK (also my mum’s birthday) so it’s socially acceptable to embrace all the Autumn tings now we’re officially in the season. Although what’s the betting we get a heat-wave now? But anyway, it’s the season for all us basic bitches (absolutely nothing wrong with being a basic bitch) to come out of our shells and to flood the blogoverse with pumpkins , fairy-lights and candles galore. Here’s my own basic-ass list of things you can do to fully embrace the most wonderful season of all.
- Write some Autumn themed blog content! I have a whole list of ideas here
- Make an Autumn Pinterest board
- Write an Autumn bucket list
- Treat yourself to a new fluffy blanket / jumper
- Experiment with different types of tea, to keep you warm when it starts getting cold!
- Make DIY Autumn home décor
- Deep clean your house / bedroom / desk to mark the start of a new season
- Write down your goals for the rest of the year
- Perfect a hearty, comfort food recipe
- Organise a cute movie night for a chilly evening
- Sort out your wardrobe; give some old summer clothes to charity and bring forward your colder wear
- Try something with pumpkin in it
- Go out for afternoon tea
- Create an Autumn reading list
- Start a new hobby
- Carve a pumpkin
- Dig out all your candles
- Go on a chilly, morning walk and step on crunchy leaves
- Experiment with a new craft; painting, flower pressing or knitting?
- Watch some fireworks with loved ones
- Buy a homeless person a warm meal / cup of tea or donate tins to a food bank
- Start preparing your Christmas shopping list / presents
- Go conker collecting
- Treat a loved one to a new pair of fluffy socks to keep their feet warm
- Make a hot chocolate with all the trimmings
- Invest in new lip care to take care of your lips in the cold weather
- Just take a moment to sit and embrace the change of season
Do you have anything to add to this list? What are your plans for Autumn? Are you a fan of Autumn?

[…] I adore Autumn and everything about it. Including bonfire night and fireworks. Yeah girl!!🍁🍂 Autumn has come (today was the first day in like a week that it was 85° out!) and I’m so happy!! I’ve got my Fall TBR list and a new cider recipe (with 3 or 4 more I need to test out) ready to go. It’s beautiful!!❤️☺️
Yay! You go and grab Autumn 🍁🎃
It’s always deep cleaning for me. The minute the night grows dark and the weather cold it’s time for the big clean before Christmas!

YES! I love a deep clean too. I tend to do a few proper big cleans during the year and the start of a new season seems to be a good time to do one! (: xx
Great post! I’ve been looking for autumnal blog post ideas and things to do during half term 😄 My favourite things about autumn are the fashion, the colour scheme and the cosy vibes 🍂❄️
I live for the cosy vibes! 💕
Autumn is the best ! I tried cooking a pumpkin quiche last year, and it was DELICIOUS. Perfect autumn dish !
Autumnal pinterest boards are simply the most beautiful thing ever! I love scrolling through them, especially since the trees in Malta are mostly evergreen !

Oh wow! That sounds lovely- maybe do a recipe post about that? xx
I love all of these ideas! I definitely want to do some more autumnal cooking this year. I’m a big fan of vegetables and hearty stews and autumn seems to be the perfect season. This year I want to branch out a little from my carrots and potatoes! I definitely need to make more pumpkin-flavoured foods and get properly into the spirit. And not food-related, I definitely want to organise a cosy movie night! Candles, fairy lights and soft halloween stories would be ideal.
Vegetables and stews are BEAUTIFUL! My mum makes the best stew and dumplings <3 xx
Hi, love this list, yes to buying a new jumper, getting out those candles and trying those teas designed for the colder months. I even walked through the leaves today and kicked them around me, love it 😊🍃🍂🍁.
I love stepping in piles of leaves too, it’s one of those small things that’s really satisfying 🍂
Sure is.
I love literally everything you’ve got on this list!! Autumn is 100% my favorite season of all time, and I look forward to the decor, the general coziness, and the nicer weather all year long!! Perfecting a comfort food recipe is top of my list for this autumn, especially if I can find a good one for a crockpot!

Definitely my favorite season in every sense.
Agreed!
It is the beginning of spring here now. Both transitional seasons bring this city out in the best colours.
In terms of literature I love autumn as it is my warmest emotional season. Open fireplaces and the accompanying smells and fragrances
Great list! I just dug out all my fall candles!
I need to do the same! (: xz
