The Bedtime Tag

It’s another tag post today (again because I’m running low on blog post ideas and I found this one on Little Owl Loves blog and thought it was cute! I wasn’t technically tagged in it – ooh rebel) and I love my bed and I love sleeping so I thought a bedtime tag was perfect for me! I’ve also recently bought some gorgeous new bedding so this is a great opportunity to show it off!

1. Describe your usual bedtime routine

My boyfriend and I often watch something before we go to sleep, either on his PlayStation or phone. It was Orphan Black or whatever current show we’re obsessed with! But I always take my make up off and do my skincare routine (which consists of a Nivea face wash, Garnier Micellar water and an antibiotic gel for acne). I’ll usually play on my phone for a bit before bed too – I’m currently playing Bakery Story!

2. What are your favourite pyjamas?

I don’t have a set pair that I love, just an old pair of shorts from a set I bought in Primark years ago (literally years ago ) and a t-shirt to go with it. I always wear fluffy heat warming socks though because I can’t stand going to bed with cold feet! I currently use these ones from Heat Holders.

3. What is your current bedtime reading?

I’m currently working my way through IT by Stephen King. I’ve read a few other books at the same time since writing this post but IT is over a thousand pages long so I’ve been at it for a while!

4. What would I find on your bedside table?

Boring answer but just a bottle of water and my phone, usually!

5. What scent makes your sleepy?

I don’t recall any scents making me sleepy but the scent I absolutely adore is freshly washed bed sheets which have been hanging to dry outside all day. There’s no smell like it!

6. What is your usual bedtime and wake up time?

I usually go to sleep at around half 12 but sometimes it’s slightly earlier or slightly later, depending on the following day. My boyfriend usually gets up for work at 8 or 9, depending on what time his shift starts. I work from home, so I get up when he gets up so his wake up time is my wake up time. I never go back to sleep when he leaves apart from the odd occasion if I feel ill or am having a bad mental health day!

7. What are your top three bedtime products?

I don’t really have any products if my teddy bear, my dog and my phone don’t count! But here are my current 3 bedtime skincare products which I’m using at the moment: Nivea Face Wash, Garnier Micellar Water and the Differin antibiotic gel (which was prescribed from the doctor)

8. what is your most common sleeping position?

I prefer to sleep on my side (either side) with my arms under my pillow.

9. Do you have anything you like to take to bed with you?

I have a teddy bear which I’ve had literally since before I was born (my granddad stole him from the hospital where my mum was – he was sitting on a table promoting Vitamin C hahaha!) and he comes everywhere with me If I’m going to be staying over somewhere, you bed your bottom dollar that my teddy bear is with me. He’s seen many part of the country and the world, this bear!

10. What’s your worst bedtime habit?

I’m not sure I really have any, apart from playing on my phone before bed but honestly, I don’t ever notice that looking at a screen affects my sleeping habits anyway!

I hope you enjoyed this cute little tag today! Please do check out Little Owl Loves post on her blog and if you want to do this tag yourself, please tag me in it so I can see your answers!

  1. Have you found differin helpful? I’m plagued by acne still and benzoyl peroxide is starting to lose effectiveness!
I actually can’t sleep in socks, even if my feet are cold. I don’t know why!

    1. I haven’t unfortunately! I’m going back to the doctors in 2 weeks to hopefully change pill. Not just because of my skin but on the combined pill my skin was absolutely fine. Doc did say that I could get medication if the cream doesn’t work but I don’t really wanna be putting anything else into my body! xxx

  2. I’ve never heard of this tag before but after reading yours, I really want to do it myself as well! Removing my makeup is definitely a big part of my bed time routine and surprisingly I quite enjoy it! xx

  3. What a lovely tag! I think I should do this tag one day 😀 I’m so bad with pj’s, I basically put on my hubby’s t-shirt and roll around the apartment 😀

  4. I’m always on my phone before I go to sleep to; really don’t think it does anything to my sleeping pattern too as much as some people like to tell me it will. It’ll probably start happening now that I’ve said that, haha! Also your dog is adorable! x

  5. What a lovely post, I love a good read before bed, I don’t tend to wear matching pj’s usually pj’s bottoms and one of my partners t-shirts. I should start doing some of these tags they look fun to do 💕💕

  6. This was so nice to read. I always have a book on my bedside table too. Usually a fantasy book or like you a thriller. I think it’s my first time hearing of this tag, really cool one.

  7. This is such a cute tag, I’m tempted to do it myself! I used to read all the time before bed but since we got the xbox that has gone right out the window haha. I don’t really do much to wind down though.

  8. That is so cute about the teddy bear – I have two cause I had a rabbit that I temporarily lost and my parents had to buy me a bear to shut me up in the meantime haha! And I totally agree with you on the smell of new sheets – the best! I may have to steal this tag, bed is basically my favourite thing haha!

  9. I really don’t know how you read a horror book before bed haha! I also love the smell of freshly washed sheets, there’s something so calming about it and I always get a better nights sleep for some reason! I find spicy cinnamon smells quite calming and sleep-aiding too but I’m also super guilty of being on my phone before bed, I need to start picking up a book instead!

  10. I am guilty of being on my phone before bedtime too, and I find that it really keeps my mind awake for even longer. I’ve put everything on night mode now and it helps a little, but it would be better if I could just switch off from it.

And how can you read a horror book before bed?! I get nightmares from just taking a peek at trailers let alone reading the whole book tehe.

  11. I can’t believe you read IT before you switch the lights out – you are made of stronger stuff than I am, there’s NO WAY I would read a horror book before I went to sleep! And I’m so with you on the smell of freshly washed line dried sheets, no tumbledryer in the world can top that fragrance. This is a lovely tag post, I shall bookmark it and try it out (probably next year now though!) and your dog is soooooo cute! X
