I mentioned on Twitter the other day that I was really enjoying dipping my toes in more beauty related posts recently. I’ve really stepped out of my comfort zone so far this year in regards to my blog and I’m really enjoying not limiting myself – no topic is off limits anymore. So whilst I’ve reviewed a few beauty related products in the past, most of them have been hair or skin care – that sort of thing. But make-up… Eeeesh. That’s an entirely different ball-game for me altogether.

As a 25 year old women, you can confidently predict that I do wear make-up. Not every day but on occasion and I enjoy trying new products as well. Am I good at doing make-up? Not really. Do I follow trends or use the right products on the right part of my face? Meh, probably not. But like I said, nothing is off limits so when I was asked by the guys at Crown if I wanted to try some of their products I thought you know what, yes, yes I bloody do.

I was extremely lucky in that I was allowed to pick a few products from their website. I chose wisely – not going too far out of my make-up related comfort zone and stuck to things which I knew I knew how to use and wouldn’t cause me too much grief. So then I decided to wait until the next time I was due to put some slap on and review everything in one go, during a full-face of make-up. So here’s how I got on with them! Need some more money for make-up? Check out bonus bez depozytu.

Crown All Day Setting Spray

I started with the All Day Setting Spray which you don’t need me to tell you what that’s for. It says on the bottle that you can spray it on either before or after, for the same result, depending on your preference so I did a few spritz before I began on my make up. It’s not scented so feels very fresh when it’s on your face. It’s quite wet (is that a silly thing to say, with it being a spray?) so it took a few minutes to set into my skin but then my foundation went straight on like normal afterwards. It’s very light and definitely not sticky, as advertised on the website.

CSR2 Vanilla Sky Concealer Stick

Next up after my foundation was on, it was time to try the concealer stick I picked out, which was this one in the shade Vanilla Sky (love the name!) Concealer is a must have for me, as my skin is quite bad so always having a concealer in my make-up bad is absolutely vital. This was a cute little stick in nice packaging. I used it where I would use my normal concealer which is under my eyes, along the bridge of my nose and on any blemishes. I think with it being a stick, it didn’t work quite as well as my usual more creamier concealer under my eyes however on blemishes it works perfectly and it blended really well. It was an excellent colour match too!

615 White HD Makeup Brush Set

I then had to crack open the 615 White HD Makeup Brush Set which I chose in order to put on my powder. First of all, I really love this little set and the white pouch / bag they come in. It’s very clean and smart – and also will encourage me to clean my make-up brushes more! You get 7 different brushes, as you can see in the photos and the first one I used, the powder brush I absolutely loved! It was so, so soft and the powder went on perfectly. I also used the contour brush for some darker contour which again, was really soft and worked well. I used the two eye shadow brushes on my eyes a bit later on and again, loved them. So I would highly recommend the brushes. My only slight niggle with this product is (although it could have just been mine of course!) is that 1) the mirror makes your face look a little distorted and 2) the mirror was every so slightly too big for where it fits in the case and there was a sharp edge poking out which could have been a hazard.

35 Colour Nude Eye Shadow Palette

Now on to what I was most excited about – the eye shadow palette! I think this would make a really good first palette for people who maybe are a little younger and just getting into make-up. I adore all the colours as I rarely wear anything other than nude shades and it really shows that just because it’s a nude palette, doesn’t mean you’re not spoilt for choice! There’s brown shades, peach shades, pinker shades – so you really can mix and match and experiment with this palette and not be limited just because they’re nude shades.

I used 3 basic colours on my first try; a cream which went all-over, a mid-brown which went in the crease and on the outer part of my eye and a slightly shimmery beige/gold on the lid. There’s a few shimmery shades scattered throughout this palette too, which is nice because I’m always up for a shimmer! The shadows aren’t that pigmented but you get a good colour once you build it up. There was also quite a bit of fall-out as well so now knowing that, I’ll definitely do my eyes before the rest of my face next time I use this palette. Live and learn! But my finished result looked really nice. It was a low-key, warm eye-shadow look with a hint of shimmer.

The palette also could maybe have benefited from a mirror – it’s a huge palette like literally the size of a small tablet or a Kindle so it has plenty of space for a nice big mirror. And again, one small niggle with this one is that the catch broke. It can still open and shut effectively without it but that could have been down to me being a bit too heavy handed or just the make of the packaging – who knows!

Phew, that was long! I hope you enjoyed my review of these products and again, a huge thank you to Crown for sending them to me. It’s so appreciated, as always with any product that gets sent my way! I’ve found some fab products here which will become a regular part of my make-up routine, especially the setting spray and the brushes. But I was very happy with my experience trying all of these and I would certainly recommend Crown as a make-up brand!

  1. THIS!! Omg I’m not familiar with the crown brand but I’d like to be! Those brushes are absolutely stunning, they look dense and like they’d hold and blend out the makeup quite well, I simply love great brushes lol I sense a brush-gasm 😂 he palette looks pretty good too. I think natural palettes are fab and easy to work with and this reminds me of the Morphe palette. Lovely review Jen! 💕

  13. I’d heard of their brushes before but didn’t realise they made make-up too! The setting spray was the most attractive to me. I am always looking for a good one that doesn’t break the bank. The eyeshadow colours were lovely as well.
