I recently blogged about what Disney means to me and that was a post I really enjoyed writing. Disney is a huge part of my life, my self and my childhood so I would like to blog about it more. I’m not a collector of Disney merch. In fact, I’m not a collector of anything because I hate hoarding stuff and literally throw everything away at the first chance I get. However, I do have some treasured Disney items at home that I absolutely love and that mean a lot to me. I might not have four thousand Tsum Tsum’s or all the movies on DVD but in no particular order, here are 5 of my favourite Disney items I own!

Peter Pan Book

My boyfriend bought me this book for my birthday in 2017 (my boyfriend bought me the majority of the items on this list actually, for various birthday’s or Christmases – I’m not trying to show off, just stating where they came from and I’m just very lucky that he knows me so well!) and it’s one of the most gorgeous books I own. I adore the cover and although I haven’t read it yet, I love seeing it on my book case.

Beauty and the Beast Print

I know I said no particular order but this print has to be my favourite Disney item and probably one of my favourite things I own, full stop! Again, Carl bought this for me for Christmas last year and although I knew I had a print (because of how big it is), I had no idea what of and I was so surprised by this. I’ve never seen a print like this before – it’s utterly gorgeous and it looks beautiful on my wall. The new BATB film is one of my favourite films so I love having this on my wall.

Mickey Mouse Christmas Ornament

I bought this in Disneyland Paris when I went in 2011 – with no intention of putting it on a Christmas tree and I also have no idea how I got it back in one piece but this is such a small and seemingly insignificant item but I love it so, very much. It’s so plain and simple but so pretty. I’d love to have an entire tree decorated like this at some point in my life!

Beauty and the Beast Lantern

This is up there as one of my favourite favoruites as well – my other Christmas present from last year from Carl. I absolutely love this lantern – it’s so unique and I’m not sure if they’re mass produced or it came from a small business type shop (he won’t tell me) but I’ve never seen another one like it or anyone else with one. So that makes me love it even more. It flickers when you turn it on, so it looks like a candle is inside. I bloody adore it.

Dumbo Teddy

Another Disneyland Paris purchase but this one is from my 2009/2010 visit (I think!) I don’t really know what made me buy Dumbo, as opposed to all the other character teddies they have in the shops at Disneyland Paris because Dumbo has never really been one of my favourite films (it’s too sad!) but I just loved this and it’s so cuddly.

If you’re a Disney fan then I’d love to know what some of your favourite bits of Disney merch are! Are you a hard core collector or do you just have a few special items like I have?

  1. That Peter Pan book cover is just beautiful! I have a Tigger pull-down bouncy keyring that talks (they don’t sell it anymore so can’t find a picture) that sits in my room from when my Dad bought it in 2007, it still works!

  2. This post has made me lust after all of the Disney things! Especially your Christmas ornament, it’s beautiful. I have a few favourite things, I have a cuddly Simba which I’ve had since I was two years old and I still love him just as much! I’ve also kept all of my old Disney books from when I was a child, I just can’t bear to part with them! xo

  4. I absolutely love that lantern! You’re right, it is really unusual. You can bet not many people have one like it! I don’t have that many Disney items actually. I do have a 101 Dalmations and Snow White mug from years ago when I was about 10! My parents kept them and then gave them back to me when I moved out! I’ll always cherish them though xx

  5. Would you mind if I maybe did a post like this and credited you with idea? I have a few different Disney items I adore. Your Mickey Christmas decoration is so beautiful, and the Dumbo teddy is adorable 💜. I haven’t been able to bring myself to watch Dum bo yet though as I know it’ll reduce me to a sobbing wreck 😂😢

  6. That print is amazing! I love the use of negative space!

Off the top of my head I own a Disney coloring book which I am too afraid to color in, a Tigger stuffed animal, a Tigger blanket, and a Beauty and the Beast journal that I also have never written in. I know I own more Disney stuff but I can’t think of it off the top of my head.

Great Post! I love Disney <3

  7. Can I just say I’m jealous of half of the stuff you have. I’m a big Beauty & the Beast person so the lantern was pretty cool and the print. I love books, so seeing that cool looking book got me intrigued about the rest of your list. I don’t know if I have any favorite Disney merch. I probably have some since I went there a lot as a kid (my maternal grandparents lived in Florida) but I don’t remember what all I have. I tend to obsesses over the movies and characters more. Favorite movies are Mulan, Beauty & the Beast, Nightmare Before Christmas and Aladdin. There are definitely others but those are at the top. It doesn’t hurt that the actress who played Mulan is also on Agents of SHIELD right now (Ming-Na Wen) and she’s doing a great job, which makes me love her even more. Okay enough rambling, thanks for the post, maybe I’ll make a top ten list or something.

  8. I’m a huge fan of these Disney related posts! I personally love dumbo he is my absolutely favorite Disney character. I got a dumbo pillow pet the last time I went to Disney and he lives on my bed at my mom’s house 😍

  9. I was in Waterstones the other day and saw that copy of Peter Pan and I just thought it looked *so* beautiful, I’d love to buy a copy for my book shelf! The print is definitely unusual, it’s so pretty and eye-catching! I absolutely love the Mickey Mouse Christmas ornament – such a lovely thing to hang on the Christmas Tree! To this day I can’t watch Dumbo because it makes me so emotional but that teddy is absolutely adorable!

  10. The Peter Pan book and the Beauty and the Beast lamp are out of this world beautiful! I’ve got a Disney Fairy and Nightmare Before Christmas snow globes that I’ve treasured for years that my daughter is now the proud owner of. I’m also loving the collabs they do with Cath Kidston x

  11. I have loved everything Disney since childhood as well. I collect Disney cats in all forms, and we also have a huge bulletin board covered in Disney pins. Thank you for this delightful look into your own treasures.

  12. Your beauty and the beast print is gorgeous! I think if I had to pick my favourite Disney item I own then it would have to be my giant Eeyore!

  13. My favourite of all the items you’ve got here is the Peter Pan book. I know you shouldn’t judge a book by its cover, blah, blah, but how can you not with a cover like that? It’s beautiful! And I think I’ve commented previously e on how lovely the BATB print is <3 but I haven't seen your Mickey Mouse bauble before, it's so cute! Lovely collection, Jenny, thank you so much for sharing with us xx
