One of the worst parts of being a woman in today’s society is having to see the glossy versions of what we should ideally look like. It’s easy to bring yourself down by flicking through these magazines and watching films and our favourite tv shows. You shouldn’t ever feel like the women that are in our break time magazines are how you need to be to be considered as beautiful. Everyone is beautiful in their own special ways, and sometimes it’s easy to lose sight of what makes you beautiful. While these women on our screens are beautiful, you need to remember that you are too!

A great way of boosting your self-confidence is by pampering yourself and doing things that make you feel good about yourself. It may have been a while since you’ve treated yourself to such an occasion, so here are some fab ideas on pampering sessions that you could arrange for yourself so that you can begin to see the true beauty inside of you again, all while feeling like a million bucks.

Hands, legs, and feet

There’s something really lovely about treating yourself to a new manicure or pedicure. It instantly makes you feel more feminine, and elongates fingers while decorating them to perfection. So if you’re looking to kickstart a kickass pampering session, head to your local nail salon and have a mani/pedi to instantly bring your mood up.

Ladies, if there’s one thing that we can all agree on, that having silky smooth legs is one of the most amazing feelings in the world? Another super easy way of instantly changing the way that you feel about yourself is removing the hair from your legs and moisturising them after to look picture perfect! If you’ve never tried waxing it’s definitely something that everyone should try at least once in their lives. While there’s no denying that there is pain involved, it’s oh so definitely worth it to not have to worry about annoying stubbly growth for at least six weeks!

Many women don’t like their legs (among many other parts of their bodies), but sometimes a simple pair of heels can immediately change the shape and look of your legs. It defines your leg muscle and makes your leg instantly look more feminine! A little tip to try if you’re hiding your pins away!

Hair

Our hair is one of the first things that people notice about us, so it’s a good idea to think about treating your hair to a good old pampering session too! You can buy hair masks for any hair type, but if you’re feeling extra creative you could make your own DIY hair mask from ingredients around your home! Treat your hair and give it back it’s shine and bounce – you won’t regret it!

Another great way of refreshing your look with your hair is by going for a new style. Hot on trend at the moment is long hair with bangs, but obviously not all hair styles go with every face shape. Ask your hairdresser for advice and opinions on what kind of hairstyle would best suit your face so that you can better make your decision and not wind up regretting your new ‘do!

Skin

Another part of us that’s noticed first is our skin, and due to weather conditions or even stresses in life, our skin can become dull, dry, and even begin to crack and bleed. Do your skin and health a massive favour by drinking more water every day. Water is the most surefire way of making sure that your skin is in good condition. Not only that, water helps our bodies flush toxins away, which means that you will experience fewer breakouts, less illnesses, and also skin that’s positively glowing.

If you’re still struggling with your skin and you know that you consume enough water, then it might be time to look at what kind of moisturizer that you’re using on your face. Many people make the mistake of using an all round cream on their faces and then wonder why they’re having breakouts or the cream isn’t working. It’s always best to go for a cream that’s been specially designed to help with the skin on your face! You will notice that having the right kind of cream for your face will allow you to apply make up much more easy than before!

Teeth

You may have already heard the phrase ‘the best make up a girl can wear is her smile’. And it’s totally true! You can be totally dolled up with make up and you still wouldn’t look your best if you weren’t smiling. So why not treat those gnashers to a deep clean so that you can flash those pearly whites with confidence. Smiling also completely changes the natural look of your face too, and it’s unlikely that you’ve seen a photo of yourself with a natural smile. If you have, you will notice how much brighter your face looks and dare I say it? More beautiful.

Make up

Finally, although make up isn’t something that anyone should feel like they have to wear, it’s understandable that you might want to wear some to give that self confidence even more of a boost. If this is the case for you, then why not try out some new make up styles on your face to see if you can find a new style that suits you? The cat eye is still trending, so why not try your hand at doing some cat flicks to really accentuate your eyes?

Remember that you don’t need make up to be beautiful, and that you should never feel like you’re not beautiful enough – because you are!

  1. I never learned how to apply make up, and now it feels too late. The times I’ve tried now, my face feels so heavy and grimy; I just can’t do it. And I’m uber squeamish about pencils and curlers getting close to my eyes. Any advice for a person not too used to that stuff?
