I think Spring is a great time to spruce things up. Whether that’s your blog layout, a new hair cut, a re-decorated bedroom or a new wardrobe, Spring is a great time to jump into things head first. New beginnings and all that jazz. I always feel super motivated and inspired as Spring hits (apart from the days that my hay fever is so bad that I can’t breathe or see), I want to do more, try new things, work harder – the works! And it’s a great feeling. Fashion is something I’ve never been overly confident with; I don’t tend to follow the crowd or follow any “trends” and I’m quite reserved when it comes to my choices. But even a gal like me needs some new items to spruce up their wardrobe every now and again don’t they?
I was contacted by xylondon and asked if I’d like to be sent a pair of their shoes to review and feature on my blog. I popped over to their website to see what they did and was surprised and pleased to see they did a whole variety of different types and styles. Some for the more reserved lady… Like myself. And some for people who are considerably more “out there” with their fashion choices. They cater for more or less everyone, which is fab. Anyway, I was told I could choose any pair I wanted so after considerable deliberation, I opted for these Faux Suede boots *. I was in the market for a new pair of boots because my old ones broke not too long ago, so this couldn’t have come at a more perfect time.
When first slipping them on, I couldn’t help but notice how comfortable they were. There was no wearing them in, they were just straight on and go. It’s dreadfully annoying when you get a new pair of shoes but then have to spend 2 days wandering around the house to “wear them in“. I love boots; I’m a right boot person and think they can look amazing with so many different outfits. They can also be worn during a large portion of the year. Apart from maybe the dead of Summer, boots are a pretty safe option during Spring, Autumn and Winter so I know I’ll get a lot of use out of these.
I’m not however, a heel person. I can’t walk in heels and I don’t find them comfortable so I had to be careful when choosing my pair on the size and shape of the heel. The heel on these are perfect for me; not too high at all and nice and chunky so it doesn’t affect how I walk in them. I’ve never found heels particularly comfortable but again, on these, they’re absolutely fine. As I said before, I’m also fairly reserved when it comes to my clothing choices so I kept with what I’m comfortable with but I love the simple style of these boots but the colour was what drew me in. I’ve found the grey tone goes really well with almost everything in my wardrobe; jeans, dresses, tights, leggings. I won’t be struggling to find an outfit to pair with these
I was really impressed with the whole package of working with xylondon. Their website offers a wide range of shoes and is easy to navigate around. The shoes themselves turned up in perfect condition (the box was a bit battered but it’s what’s on the inside that counts, right?) and they fit perfectly and were my ideal type of shoe. I know I’ll be getting a lot of wear out of these and I’m looking forward to pairing them up with a variety of outfits.
Tell me: What’s your favourite type of shoe? Are you a boots person or a heel person? Would you wear something like this?

[…] what I was trying to get at. I’ve been lucky enough to work with xylondon twice before, on a Spring and a Summer post. The next logical step would be Autumn, right? But 2018 continues to grace us […]
[…] May I worked with a fab shoe company, xylondon on a review of a pair of their boots. I bloody love these boots and have certainly got some wear out of them since receiving them so I […]
I love the look of these boots, the heel is perfect for navigating through Spring showers haha. These are a gorgeous colour too, I’m sure you won’t have much trouble pairing them with your outfits! And I’m glad they are so comfy, will have to take a look at XYLondon and see what else they have!

I love the heel too and I hate heels!
These boots are fabulous! I love a block heel, usually black (as they go with everything) and not too high but enough to make me look a weeeee bit taller! I’ve also never heard of this brand before so will check them out now 🙂
Block heels are great and so comfy too! xxx
I love these boots – they are such a gorgeous colour. I am more of a heeled boots person. I love heels.
Thank you 🙂
Heel girl through and through, I’ve learnt what’s good for my feet-faith shoes are the best, unfortunately they’ve gone bust, so am regularly hunting on eBay. Clark’s are also really good, expensive and not always stylish, however when you find a pair, they go with everything and comfort and quality lasts for a really long time 🙂
Can’t remember the last time I shopped at Clark’s!
I cannot wear heels. At all. I fall over within literally the first second, so these look absolutely perfect and a great size heel, will definitely have to check them out.

Those are such cute booties!! I love a nice neutral pair that you can pair with anything! Not too high and not flat, just perfect!
Exactly! Me too 🙂
Nice boots! The grey makes a good change from black but is still as versatile.
Yep absolutely 🙂
I have never heard of the brand xylondon before – I love discovering new brands! And I love a good boot. Admittedly I buy far too many black boots so maybe I need to branch out… x x x
They do have some lovely black boots though!
These are beautiful! I love boots – I have a habit of buying way too many pairs. I am slightly scared to open my cupboard in case I get hit in the head, haha!
I definitely shouldn’t have clicked on this post, BRB going to throw all my money at them!
Hahah! Oh dear!
I love boots. Never heard of this brand before.

Now these look lovley, I am SO fussy when it comes to footwear but I really love the look of these. I bet the colour would go with almost everything too! I’m quite small so I love wearing heeled boots, so I’ll definitely have to take a look on this company’s site! Great review as always 🙂

Looks comfy!
They are indeed!
Personally, I’m not really a fan of any shoe with high heels, but boots are fine and trainers are my favourite! Loved this post x

I think I am both a boots person and a heels person. Just depends on the season, context and outfit. I had never heard of that brand but already had a very quick look at their website ahah! these boots are so nice! xx corinne
Thank you 🙂 I love a shoe that you can wear with anything xx
I’m exactly the same, I cannot walk anywhere in heels without falling over or getting a painful blister 🙈. These boots look really comfy and the heel looks like a sensible size. I love the colour and they look really nice with your outfit. Fab post Jenny! 💖 xx

I loove boots! They are my favourite – I have a cute black pair, that I wear for work. I definitely want to get more but find it hard to find the ones I really like when out shopping – love the ones you got! They’re a lovely colour! I hadn’t heard of this company before, but definitely will have to check them out next time I’m looking for a pair of boots!

Thank you 🙂 Hope you find something you like!
I’m barely 5ft so I have to say I’m usually way more comfortable in heels! I love shoes with a bit of texture to them though so velvet/ suede etc make the perfect addition to any outfit. I love the colour of these boots too x

Thank you 🙂 Awh really?! You’re quite small! I’m 5”3 so I don’t NEED heels at all but I probably wouldn’t wear them anyway xxx
Love the colour xx
Thanks, me too.
Those boots look amazing & super comfy, they are such a good colour too!

I love the colour as well! 🙂 xxx
I cannot wear heels in any shape or form, my left foot starts to hurt and I get shooting pains up my leg, sob. Ordinarily I’m either a long boot girl, a Converse trainers girl, or a flip flops girl. Those are my three footwear options of choice! I do like the look of these boots though, as you say, the heel is nice and low so I might head over to their site and have a browse. So glad you found something you like and is comfortable for you straightaway. Fab pics too! x

They do plenty more style boots which are really nice with different shape and size heels – some smaller than this so definitely worth a look 🙂 xxx
