I’ve been practicing Yoga for a number of years now and it’s found it’s way into my heart, into my life and into my weekly routine with a firm thud. I honestly don’t know what I’d do without my Yoga practices now as it really does tend to so much; body, mind spirit. Yoga with Adriene is one of the most popular Yoga channels on the internet so today I want to share 10 Yoga With Adriene beginners practices with you.

Yoga With Adriene Beginners

I’ve found a form of exercise I love, which after years of anxiety disorder and not doing any exercise, was really important. It gives me freedom, it’s fun and it feels good. What more could you want? Another main pro of Yoga for me is that it can be free. My Yoga journey started out with some DVD’s I bought from Amazon. These were good but not really for me. Then I found Yoga With Adriene on YouTube – after searching for videos to help some back pain.

I’ve been using Yoga With Adriene ever since – the amount of videos she has for literally every type of practice you could possibly want is out of this world. Back pain? Got it. Core work out? Got it. Meditation? Got it. And I don’t have to pay a single penny in order to do it.

I know a lot of people are interested in Yoga but simply don’t know where to start with it and that’s okay, it can be difficult to understand. So I’ve put together a list of my top 10 favourite Yoga With Adriene practices and a brief explanation as to what they focus on, to hopefully help you get started! (In no particular order)

Yoga With Adriene Beginners

Here are 10 beautiful Yoga With Adriene Beginners practices I’d recommend to anyone wanting to get started with Yoga!

1. TRUE – Soften

This is my go-to practice whenever I’m not feeling 100%. When I want to get a little bit of Yoga and movement in but I can’t commit to a longer or more vigorous practice. Soften is a lovely, swift practice which feels amazing.

2. Movement Medicine – Energy

Another good one for someone who perhaps doesn’t have a whole bunch of time or wants to get a quick work out in. Energy is a great practice which will certainly get you sweating but give you that burst you need.

3. Yoga for Hips and Lower Back

As someone who always has lower back and hip pain, this practice is perfect for me. It’s a stretchy practice with some nice hip openers and feels amazing if you’re tight around the hip area.

4. Yoga for Relaxation

This one will not get you sweaty at all and it really does do what it says on the tin. Perfect for if you’re feeling a bit stressed and frantic and need to chill for half an hour.

5. Meditation for Inner Peace

I love this meditation practice and as someone who struggles to zone out, it really helps me just focus on my breath for the 11 minutes it runs for. For anyone, like me, who’s frantically rushing around all the time, give this a try.

6. Peaceful Warrior Yoga

The Peaceful Warrior pose is one of my favourite poses and this practice can be really empowering. It’s a lovely flowy practice which doesn’t get you too hot and sweaty but definitely gets you moving.

7. Total Body Yoga – Deep Stretch

This is a good practice to slot in if you’ve done a lot of high intensity flow practices because it focuses entirely on stretching and you get some really deep stretches throughout this one that feel amazing. It’s quite long but it’s worth it.

8. Let It Go Yoga Flow

This one really is good for… you guessed it… letting it go! If you’re a bit worked up about something or stressed then this is a great practice to do. It certainly gets the heart rate up but there’s some great moves in here which require a lot of attention. Perfect for if you need to get something off your mind.

9. Yoga for Beginners – A Little Goes a Long Way

This is the practice I started with (after the back pain one) when I first discovered Yoga With Adriene and was a complete beginner. If you’re a beginner, have done no Yoga before and want to start easy and low to the ground, this Yoga With Adriene beginners practice is PERFECT for you!

10. TRUE – Be You

Although I said these are no particular order but the Be You practice from Yoga With Adriene’s ‘TRUE – 30 Day Yoga Journey’ series is definitely my favourite. One of the only videos where the mic comes off and you’re doing your practice to gorgeous, soothing music instead. This practice is great for when you’ve got your foundations sorted and are a little more experienced.

  12. I’ve never tried yoga before! If I’m honest, I’ve always been quite confused about what it actually is – stretching? Exercise? Meditation? But it seems a combination of all three! I’ll have to give this a go!

    1. It’s everything, you make it what you want. There’s high intensity practices for weight loss, stretch exercises, specific stretches for pains (e.g back pain), meditation, flexibility practices. Literally everything xxx

  13. I tried yoga once, and it didn’t go well unfortunately, my back actually felt worse than before I went :/

Would love to try a different form of it though, as it may have just been one part of it that didn’t quite work for me.

  15. I love it! For years, I’ve tried to get into yoga – via DVDs – but it didn’t stick. This year, though, I needed a workout during Ramadan that would help me stay limber but not expend precious energy. When I found Yoga with Adriene … wow. It was amazing. I’ve been working my way through the TRUE series so far! And my body feels absolutely amazing. Better yet, I had my first proper yoga class, and never felt so empowered and strong afterward! Thanks for sharing these!!!
