Want to make healthier choices this summer? The aim of National Allotment Week this year (which begins on Monday 13th August) is to encourage more people to grow their own fruit and veg. Growing your own is one of the best and most rewarding ways to kick start a healthier lifestyle – and it’s also much easier than you may think!
Even if you’re limited on outdoor space and gardening experience, there are many of fruits (such as strawberries and tomatoes) which can flourish in pots and hanging baskets with relatively little fuss. Use your windowsill to grow fresh herbs in small pots or rent a small allotment space to grow larger crops like potatoes and onions. Then it’s time to get all the family together to create wholesome snacks and notorious meals using your home-grown produce.
To help you get started growing your own for a healthier summer, we’ve joined forces with the team at bgo.com (the UK online casino) to giveaway a kitchen herb starter kit. You’ll find all the details of how to enter the giveaway below.
And if you’re looking for things to do whilst your fruit and veg grows big and juicy, look no further than bgo’s great range of online casino games. To keep you in the spirit of the Nation Allotment Week, we’d recommend playing Fruit Shop. This simple yet fun slot game is perfect for new and seasoned players alike.
