I don’t think there’s a person in the world that wouldn’t agree that fresh flowers can bright up any drab room. Although I don’t personally buy flowers too often (I have such bad allergies that I do try and avoid having anything with leaves in my bedroom!) my Mum always has, ever since I can remember she’d be buying a few bunches of fresh flowers from the supermarket every week with the weekly shop to dot around the living room and the kitchen. Supermarkets are great options to pick up small, cheap bunches of flowers for a treat but every now and again, it’s always nice to invest in a proper bouquet. You can instantly see and smell the difference in quality and there are so many incredible bouquet options to chose from, there’s bound to be something for everyone.

Talking about flowers always makes me revisit my old dream of becoming a florist. There was a time where I was applying for apprenticeships to become a florist but unfortunately nothing ever came out of it. Receiving a gorgeous bouquet of flowers certainly makes that old dream spark a little, deep down.

I was thrilled when Appleyard London contacted me and asked if I’d be interested in receiving one of their bouquets to review. Obviously I said yes, otherwise I wouldn’t be writing this post and I thought that because my Mum’s birthday was coming up, I’d gift them to her as an early birthday gift because damn it, she deserves lovely flowers. And lovely flowers these certainly are.

Among their £20-£40 range that I was allowed to chose from, there are so many vastly different bouquets to suit all tastes. From pinks and pastels to deep red roses, elegant lilies to simply sunflowers. It was very hard to chose the perfect bouquet. Usually, I’d go for something pink or something pastel but I wanted to be a bit daring so I chose the Citrus Coulis bouquet which thankfully, my Mum loved as well.

I loved the look of the bright, vibrant colors. Like I said, something I wouldn’t usually go for. The bouquet is described as, “A stunning and bright bouquet of cerise germini, vibrant wow and tara roses with blue agapanthus complemented by foliage“, and it really did look just as lovely in real life as it did in the photo.

I asked for the bouquet to be delivered on Monday 17th September, which it was and it came in a nice big box, wrapped in lovely white Appleyard London branded paper. In the wrapping, the bouquet looked just about perfect but my Mum was incredibly happy with how it transferred to a vase – pictured above. We’re both incredibly happy with the bouquet – definitely one of the better ones I’ve ever had!

What would be your choice of bouquet? What are your favourite flowers? Have you shopped at Appleyard London before? Let me know!

  1. Love how rich the bouquet looks! Big plus that all of the leaves compliment the bloomed flowers. Appleyard London doesn’t mess around with their arrangements. Glad you enjoyed the overall service!

  2. Now that I think of it, I’ve never actually bought a bunch of flowers…or had any bought for me either! I have a few fake ones in my room (I’m the same with allergies and pollen can affect my asthma if its strong enough) but they’re not where near as gorgeous as these are 🙂 xxx

  5. I love flowers. I need to get back into the habit of buying them weekly like your mom does, I love how they fill the house. The colours in that bouquet are gorgeous. I’m so glad your mom was pleased with them.

  6. This bouquet is absolutely stunning! Surprisingly one of my favourite flowers are those big germini ones included in this bouquet they always look so pretty! I’m not one to buy fresh flowers very often but these would make a great gift!

  7. What stunning colours and I actually love how they are set against the pale packaging and wrapping. Beautiful! They look like very fragrant flowers included too, I have a sweet spot for gerberas

  8. Hi – I’m so glad your experience with this company was positive. Unfortunately, I used this so-called premium company for a bunch of flowers for a colleague whose husband was critically ill. All of the staff contributed but when they arrived they were limp and looked half dead. I could honestly have done better getting them from my garden, especially as I had ordered the larger bouquet at extra cost.
Despite lots of toing and froing the company refused to either replace or give a partial refund or even just admit the flowers were substandard. I guess as the flowers you received were offered in return for a blog post they sent the best of their flowers in a gorgeous bouquet. If this had been the case for the flowers my colleague received we all would have been very happy.

    1. Wow that’s surprising, I’ve heard nothing but good things about them. Unfortunately for you but hopefully it was a one off bad experience. Really sorry to hear you didn’t have a positive one with them.

  9. These flowers are gorgeous! What a beautiful bouquet for such an excellent price range, I wonder if I can find an equivalent here in the States. Not surprised that your mom loved them!!
