Advent calendars are without a doubt one of the best things about Christmas. Even as an adult, my Mum still buys me a chocolate advent calendar every year to enjoy in the lead up to Christmas. Although she does buy the dog one as well so there’s that. Before I started blogging, I didn’t think any other “type” of advent calendars existed… maybe they didn’t? But beauty advent calendars are a really great alternative to your traditional chocolate ones (although I’d never say no to a chocolate one, would you?) There’s such a huge variety of all different types with various products and price ranges that it can certainly be hard to know where to start when you’re in the market for a beauty advent calendar for yourself or a loved one! Today I’m working with Chemist4u again (thanks guys!) and sharing my thoughts on 3 of their beauty advent calendars!

Ladies Fragrance Advent Calendar

I wanted to chose 3 entirely different calendars with different types of products so I could get a feel for the quality of each and my first one was the Ladies Fragrance Advent Calendar… oooooh! This one came in a Women’s and a Men’s and retails at just £14.99 for 24 doors, which is excellent value and would make a nice extra gift for someone in your life who loves their fragrances.

Apologies for the reflection in the box (I’ve not mastered the art of photo taking, clearly) but I really like the box and how it opens like a book. One con of this calendar was that the doors were exceptionally hard to open, like really hard, it was weird?! I obviously won’t test every single scent but I did spritz a few as I was playing with this and 2 that really stood out were Lady in Gold and Donna Diva, which I thought smelt like Alien by Mugler.

S&G Bubble Boutique Luxury Bath Time Advent Calendar

I really liked the Bubble Boutique Luxury Bath Time Advent Calendar because I can’t say I’ve ever come across a purely bath-themed advent calendar before. I love my baths, especially in Winter when it’s so cold outside you need to defrost yourself and it’s always nice to treat yourself to a bath bomb too! This one had 24 doors and contained a variety of bath products from soap, bath salts, bath pearls and bath bombs in various scents and retails at £11.99.

Value wise, this is absolutely excellent because although the products are smaller, you get more or less 24 baths out of them and when you think of other popular bath brands, you probably wouldn’t get much for that price. This is definitely something a little different and again, would make a lovely gift to someone. The only con would be the products are a little repetitive after a while. However I do love the packaging on this one a lot! It’s probably my favourite outer packaging of the bunch!

Q-Ki 24 Days of Beauty London Advent Calendar

The Q-Ki 24 Days of Beauty London Advent Calendar also has a New York version, which has the same products just a different picture on the front. I think the packaging of this one is really lovely (both versions) and it has 24 doors and retails at £16.99. The most expensive one of the lot but still insanely affordable, especially for what you get. This one was hands down my favourite although I probably won’t personally use all the products, I think it’s great value for money and ideal as well for a younger person who’s just starting to experiment with make up.

I was seriously impressed with the amount of products in this one (even though I knew there was going to be 24, it still looks a lot when they’re out of the packaging) and there are some really lovely items. There’s almost everything you’ll need for a full face of make-up, aside from foundation, powders, concealer and brow products. You’ll get 6 different mini eye shadow palettes, with 4 shades each and I’m really excited to try these because they’re all pretty toned down colors which is perfect for me. There’s blush, highlight and bronzer as well as a few lip palettes, lipsticks, lip liners and lip gloss. Noticeably all within the same 2 shades so your liners match your sticks etc.

So there we are, a little round up of all 3 calendars. If you’re looking for an affordable beauty advent calendar then Chemist-4-u is a great option. Since I received mine, they’ve added even more to their website which all look lovely too. There’s definitely something for everyone and I was really impressed with the products in all of these. I mean, I’m not going to run short on perfume for a while am I? The Q-Ki calendar got the number 1 spot for me but all of these would definitely make cute little gifts for someone to help them enjoy the lead up to Christmas this year!

    1. Me neither, some of them although they’re so lush, are far too expensive. I certainly couldn’t afford anything like that especially during the Christmas period when I’m spending so much money on everyone else!

  1. The fragrance calendar sounds like such an idea! I’m always looking for new fragrances and a quick tester in the shop doesn’t always do them justice!

  2. The amount of stuff I didn’t know before blogging is insane but for sure the biggest one is non-chocolate advent calenders! Seeing as I’m a working adult it gives me great joy to be able to get both 🙂
These look awesome, the bath one is my fav!! xx

  3. Fragrance calendar sounds like a great way to try out new fragrances!!! And then treat yourself in the Christmas sales!!! Love the bauble scores!!

  4. Great post, I think all 3 of these look brilliant and definitely worth the money for what you get in them all. I have to agree, the packaging for the Bubble Boutique calendar is so nice 😍 For the second year running I’ve got the Reese’s peanut butter cups advent calendar as I’m obsessed 😂 Think I could be tempted by one of these though, probably the frgrance one!

  6. I love advent calendars! They’re such a great way to get yourself in the Christmas spirit. I try and get myself one every year but for some reason, I’ve never actually thought about buying a beauty advent calendar before. These ones look really nice! Thanks for sharing!

  7. Lovely post. I’ve always been interested in buying a beauty advent calender and you’ve reminded me to keep a look out!

  8. These calendars all seem nice and great value for money. Unfortunately I’ve already got my beauty advent calendar sorted this year (a considerably more expensive birchbox number) but will keep these guys in no d for next year! X

  9. I’ve never had an advent calendar of any type – I don’t think they’re terribly popular in the part of the U.S. I live in and since I don’t celebrate Christmas – not something I’ve come in contact with much.

I’d love a Solstice themed version of this though, that would be spectacular!

  10. I love these beauty advent calendars! I’ve only seen them recently pop up. I have to admit though, if I get one, I’ll also have to get a chocolate one haha. I’ve never heard of this brand before but I like all the different options. The bath time might be my favorite!

    Cheers xx

  11. Wow, all these advent calendars look beautiful, I’m loving the purple theme! I’ve never had an an advent calendar that wasn’t chocolate, but these are actually a really nice idea. The bath one is exactly my kinda thing and the packaging is stunning too. I’m impressed at the amount of makeup you get in the London Beauty calendar too. It’s great that these are affordable and there is such a good range of options. Thanks for sharing Jenny and yay for Christmas posts!! <3 xx

  12. These look like great calendars for their price, it’s so refreshing to see something that’s affordable. I have to confess that I’ve treated myself to the M&S Beauty Advent Calendar this year – my first ever beauty advent calendar – and I’m so excited about everything inside. I know I’ll use nearly all of it. Can’t wait for December now! Lovely review, Jenny, and FABULOUS photos as always! xx

      1. Ah, the M&S one was £35 if you spent £35 on clothes/beauty first. Alan needed some new trousers and I bought Flora a top so that made it OK otherwise I wouldn’t have bothered! xx

  13. The bath time Advent calendar looks so pretty! I haven’t had a chocolate Advent calendar in a good few years now though, I’m probably the only person who doesn’t really like them, too much chocolate haha! These are all pretty well priced though! Lovely post 🙂
