My favourite thing about Christmas is buying gifts for people (which is funny because I just had a huge meltdown on Twitter about how I hate people spending money on me!) and I strive and strive and strive every year to find people the perfect present, something personal and something that will mean something to them long after Christmas is over. Socks, candles and chocolate are great for stocking fillers (I’ll never say no to extra chocolate around Christmas) but for actual proper gifts, something a little different is always the way to go in my eyes.
And of course, Christmas is a time for family – whoever that is for you – and just spending a little less time on your phone or doing work and a little more time engaging in more family oriented activities. Sweet and Nostalgic have a huge range of sweet (some quite literally) gifts, some of which encourage you to spend more time with your family and others which are just generally really thoughtful and personal. Many of their gifts will bring back the sights, smells and tastes of years gone by and during a time where everything and everyone is evolving at 400 miles per hour, I think that’s a lovely idea to bring into your home for Christmas. A time to chill out, slow down and just be with the people you love.
Christmas Sweet Wooden Box – £27
These gorgeous wooden sweet boxes can be personalised and will make a gorgeous keepsake and can be used for Christmases to come. They come with 9 different sweets, including Rosey Apples (the name I used to call my Nan – see, even writing this post is making me nostalgic!), gummy snowmen and chocolate coins (the ultimate Christmas treat).
Beano Annual – £20.99
These Beano Annuals can be fully personalised and allow you to choose a year of your choice and re-read the cartoon stories from that year in your personalised annual. I’m sure most people reading this will be familiar with the name Beano – I don’t personally remember ever reading them myself but I definitely know the name and these would make a fantastic gift for anyone who grew up in the 80’s or 90’s who might have read these regularly! A true blast from the past!
1980’s Sweet Memories, 500pc Jigsaw Puzzle – £11
This next one is so nostalgic, it’s even before my time! I’m a 90’s baby but I desperately wish I was a teenager in the 80’s. I adore 80’s music and 80’s fashion and I would have no doubt adored all these 80’s sweets too! This huge puzzle contains 500 pieces and would be the perfect way to spend a Christmas afternoon with some family – but will definitely leave you craving something sweet afterwards!
Christmas Trivia Card Game – £5
Another great stocking filler idea which will provide hours of fun over Christmas is this Christmas themed trivia card game, with 100 Christmas themed questions. We love a good trivia quiz over the holidays and spend plenty of hours quizzing each other and ourselves and ultimately getting irritated because it turns out that we don’t actually know as much as we thought we did! But another small gift which will encourage more family time over the holiday! You can also find Sweet & Nostalgic on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
Have you started your Christmas shopping yet? Which of these would go down well in your family? Do you like spending time together playing games over Christmas? Let me know!

I love things that make you feel nostalgic! My family definitely love to sit and play old school board games every Christmas, it’s one of my favourite things! That sweet box looks so lovely though, would be a great present. I usually hate playing Trivia games though because I can never answer the questions unless it’s a kids version haha!
