Your face and its skin are the windows which reflect the level of beauty and attraction you are blessed with. They also tell the story of how much care of these two you have been taking over the years. Admitted that aging is a continuous process and it does influence your face and the relative status of your skin. But, its negative impacts can be dealt with great caring products like Timeless Skin Care, etc.

The reality of wrinkles and fine lines

The signs of getting old in the form of fine lines, wrinkles and dark spots cannot be stopped by any means. Instead, you can only slow down their advances. There are two major types of proteins found in your skin: Collagen and Elastin. The molecules of these two serve as the building blocks of your healthy skin. Their production by your body is very fast during the period right from your birth to the early twenties. During this period, the rate of their production is much faster than that of their breakage. From the mid twenties, the reverse process begins. The rate of their breakage becomes faster than that of their production. This triggers the aging process resulting in a dull complexion, sagging skin, folds and creases.

What the experts say

An honorable, board-certified dermatologist, Rhondo Klien, is of the view,” Fine lines and wrinkles are all part of the natural aging process. This is because the skin gets thinner, drier and less elastic as the age advances itself.”

A scientist, author and a skin care expert, Dr Hannah Sivak says,” External and internal pollution, UV radiations and certain life style habits like smoking all matter. They accelerate and contribute to the degradation of your skin’s healthy cells and connective tissues. Consequently, some parts of your face skin get thicker and others thinner.” Sivak further explains,” At the molecular level, there are many changes in the proteins structure. Some proteins are being broken down and replaced with others that are different in amino acid sequence and other physical behavior.”

How serums can help

With their extensive versatility and variety, face serums can effectively enhance your skin care regimen. In order to enhance the potency of moisturizers, night creams, and masks, you can add face serums like ferulic acid serum to them. Then you can use them as a spot treatment or standalone actives to freshen up your skin. An esthetician at Beverly Hills Rejuvenation Center, Heather Bennet says,” Unlike creams and lotions, serums are able to go deeper into the skin layers. Anti wrinkle serums are more liquid than solids and, therefore, are able to penetrate multiple layers of skin more quickly and easily. The major benefits of serums are that they offer the most lightweight formula and give the most intensive results.”

There are so many different types of serums available and a great hype always comes with the new releases and cult products. It has become really very difficult to figure out which one will give your skin that much required rejuvenation. So be careful and watchful when you select the best one for you.

  2. I really have to wonder what the negative impacts of the natural signs of ageing are outside of social consequences? Fine lines and wrinkles aren’t…unhealthy. They’re simply considered unattractive on women, because we’ve been socialized to believe that women of certain ages are unattractive.

Men are allowed to age and wrinkle gracefully – no one is promoting anti-aging serums or face creams to them. Men are allowed to be more than a pretty face, but I take issue with the idea that a woman’s worth lies solely in her face and the condition (faked youthfulness, for one!) of it.

  3. Some good advice. I never used to look after my skin because I was a very lucky teenager (read: no spots or blackheads) and in my early twenties I suffered an unexpected bad break out which really encouraged me to look after myself. It is hard to know what is what out there in the world of skincare but definitely starting a skincare regime as early as you can is well-worth it 🙂

  4. I had no idea that the reverse process begins in one’s mid 20’s, my goodness! That’s a bit scary for me to think about as I just turned 19, and I know I need (& should have already started) to use anti aging serums & put the work in in places like right around my eyes. This post was so informative & a great reminder of that xx
