Sometimes it’s the really simple posts which you crave to write. And that’s me right now. I can’t be arsed going off on a big ol’ tangent about anything. I can’t be bothered critiquing a book or ranting about the blogging community (I mean… not that there’s anything to rant about because it’s practically perfect in every way). I just wanna sit down and answer some questions. So that’s what I’m doing. Hey-oh.

The last general Q&A I did was back in October (although I did do a Disney themed one which was really fun) and my follower count has grown quite a bit since then so for any newbies, hey! Nice to meet you, here’s some pointless information about me, I hope you enjoy.

In all the years you’ve been blogging, do you have a favourite post that you’ve written? If so, what is it and why is it your favourite?

This is such a difficult question because shortly before writing this post, I just had hit 1,000 posts. So I have ONE THOUSAND posts to choose from. I really liked my post titled Behind the Blogging Mask and I think it’s one of my favourites simply because it 100% came from the heart and I finally expressed everything I was feeling about that particular topic. It was freeing to get it all written down! However, I have deleted that post since writing this.

What are you looking forward to the most this year?

I’m looking forward to heading back to Brands Hatch in August to watch the DTM the most, so far. As it’s been a bit of a rocky beginning of the year, at the time of writing this, I don’t have an awful lot planned but I’m sure there will be other stuff coming up soon.

What is your favourite thing about Winter?

Everything. I adore Winter – it’s my favourite season. I think my favourite thing is simply the cold.

If you could do any job in the world, regardless of qualification etc, what would it be?

This is a really tough one because there’s so much to choose from if qualifications etc are no object. If I’m looking on the slightly more realistic side, I’d probably just love to own and run my own book shop but if I’m really pushing the boat out, probably a Formula 1 engineer or strategist.

What’s your biggest blogging dream?

Probably to work with Disney! Oh it would be the biggest dream! But really, it’s just to make a steady and solid full-time income from my blog and my own resources. I’m over halfway there so I guess this is a dream that could be a reality if I keep working hard!

What does your perfect day look like?

My perfect day would start by waking up early in a cottage somewhere in the countryside, where there’s no-one else around and all you can hear are the bird and maybe some other animals. Having breakfast then getting ready to go out somewhere for the day – probably the zoo – coming back, getting a takeaway and watching something binge-worthy on Netflix. I’m a simple gal.

If you started your blog again, from the beginning, what would your very first post be about?

My first post was a book review of The Perks of Being a Wallflower because I was a book blogger when I started but if I started again, I definitely wouldn’t be a book blogger so I’d probably do a simple Q&A or something to introduce people to me and my blog!

If you could reread only one series over and over again what series would it be?

Okay I’m going to cheat a little bit here because I don’t really read series (I bet you thought I was going to say Harry Potter) so I’m just going to choose a book in general so if I could only reread one book over and over again, it’d probably be The Age of Miracles by Karen Thomson-Walker.

What do you do to relax?

Nothing. I don’t relax. Ever. Kidding but I do find it really hard to relax. But mostly, I like to play video games. They’re a really good way for me to completely switch off from real life that nothing else seems to allow me to do. I love The Sims but at the moment I’ve been totally engrossed in Red Dead Redemption 2.

Where is your favourite place?

Disneyland Paris. My favourite place on Earth!

  1. I love videogames for relaxing too! What are you currently playing? I would also love to own my own bookshop / cafe <3

  2. So interesting that you like the cold! I like everything about winter apart from how cold it gets! Formula 1 engineer would be sooooo interesting and such a good experience. Oh working with Disney! Can you imagine!! Dream come true!! How come you are no longer a book blogger? Also, I really need to read The Age of Miracles if it is a favourite of yours! xx

    1. The Age of Miracles is AMAZING! I just grew out of book blogging. I didn’t like the community and I wasn’t reading as much a i just preferred the lifestyle posts I was doing much more 😌 I no longer really enjoyed reading either, knowing that I had to review the book afterwards xxx

  3. ‘Cupcakes and Cauldrons’ the coffee shop/Wiccan shop I always wanted to open! 🙂 Really enjoyed reading your answers – I love to game too. Mine is usually D3 but I do play The Sims 4 every now and again. 😀

  4. Wow 1000 posts! Now that is an accomplishment, I can imagine it was hard to choose a favorite post. And yay – I love winter too, it’s my favorite season (semi-tied between autumn and winter though haha)

The small book shop sounds like the perfect idea, all the books, can’t imagine a better job! Formula 1 Engineer/Strategist sounds like a really fun job too, imagine a scenario where you’d have a book shop and then be a Formula 1 Engineer during the weekend, best of both worlds!

I actually can’t even remember my first post and sort of never want to scroll that far back, I feel like as I continued blogging I developed my own voice, looking back sounds very cringe at the moment haha.

YAY MY QUESTION! I thought you would have said Harry Potter haha a plot twist! I’ve actually never heard of The Age of Miracles by Karen Thomson-Walker – just added it to my want to read list on Goodreads!

    1. Hahaha! Unfortunately that wouldn’t be doable as F1 is a full-time job, there’s no rest for the engineers! They work all week, during race weekends and then all the way until the next race 🤦‍♀️ I’ve still not read all the Harry Potters tbh! I’d definitely recommend The Age of Miracles! xxx

  5. Wow!! 1000 posts is Amazing!!! I love winter too– the season suits me so well. I love getting cosy at home and I think snow is so pretty!!!
Running your own bookshop sounds so cool!!!
I hope you achieve your blogging dreams– you work very hard so you definitely deserve it!!
I think Netflix and a takeaway would be at the end of my perfect day too!! 😊
    Lovely reading your answers!! 💛

  6. It’s so nice to learn a bit more about Jenny behind the blog! Thanks for doing the Q&A 🙂 I loved your answer about the F1 dream job – that would be so awesome! And I’m with you on the perfect day (sounds like heaven!), it’s the simple pleasures right? B x

  7. Loved this little Q&A, they’re a great way to get to know the person behind the blog. Disney really would be a dream client to work with!

  8. This is a great post. And videogames can be great. When I’m feeling really stressed I put viva pinata on. it’s a totally non violent kids game, but it’s filled with pretty colors, funny sounds and all you do is take care of your garden. Can’t stress while doing that hehe.
    Thank you for sharing <3

      1. Oh I do that too, though not in RDR. I’m playing Fear and Prototype too, just to do some killing when needed hehe.

  9. This is such a lovely post and thank you for answering my question, Jenny! 🙂 I love your idea of a perfect day, takeaway and Netflix is the ideal combination, yay for the simple things in life. I haven’t been to the zoo in ages, I’d love to go sometime, it is such an enjoyable day out. I’m still keeping my fingers crossed for your Disney collab, they would be so lucky to work with you! Also, wow… 1,000 blog posts, that’s seriously impressive! I think I have around 150 so I have a long way to go before I get there, ha ha! Thanks for sharing your answers, fab post! <3 xxx

  10. I’m with you on waking up in the countryside to birdsong. In summer I sometimes do this when it gets light earlier and I can’t sleep and it’s wonderful, so still and tranquil. Until the cats start yowling for breakfast, haha. I know how much Disney means to you so I REALLY hope someone in the right place is reading this post and gets in touch, that would be a fabulous post to read in due course. Loved reading this, Jenny, so nice to find out more about you 🙂 xx
