[AD] Late last year, I was very kindly offered a complimentary stay and dinner at the Brooklands Hotel & Spa in Surrey. At the time, I thought it was too good to be true but when it finally came around and we arrived at this absolutely stunning hotel, well, hello Imposter Syndrome. On Friday 18th January, Carl and I made our way to Brooklands Hotel and Spa for our stay and here’s what I thought!

Check-in was from 3pm so we made sure we got there for bang on 3 (after getting a bit lost and finding ourselves in a car park of an office block?!) so we could make the most of the suite (?!) The entrance and lobby is absolutely beautiful, really big and spacious with lovely decor.

The hotel itself is situated on the site of the old Brooklands race track, the oldest race track in the world, built in 1907 and there’s also the Brooklands Museum 10 minutes away, the home of British Motorsport and aviation history, so there’s plenty of tasteful racing and aviation themed decor around the hotel.

Check-in was easy and the lovely lady at reception was so kind and helpful. We were directed to our suite, which was on the top floor, above the spa. Brooklands Hotel & Spa has incredible spa facilities which although we didn’t get around to using because of the length of our stay, I’d definitely consider for a spa weekend in the future.

The BSpa includes their brand new Sunlight Therapy room, meditation room with heated waterbeds, his & hers sauna and steam rooms and treatment rooms where you can get pedicures, massages and facials. The spa also has it’s own cafe, which serves drinks, light meals and afternoon tea so you don’t have to go wandering around the hotel in your robe.

Anyway, back to our visit. We were offered a one night stay in the Noel Pope Suite, which quite honestly, is bigger than my entire house. We were absolutely blown away by the suite, which contained a dining area, living area with a TV, an office area, bedroom and spacious bathroom with a walk in shower and separate bath. Along with a huge balcony with floor to ceiling windows, directly overlooking the spectacular Mercedes-Benz World.

We were also kindly left some Prosecco, cakes and sweet treats, water and a little bag of goodies on our arrival too!

So once we got into the room we had a few hours to spare until dinner, which was booked for 7 in their 1907 Bar and Grill. We were offered a 3 course meal and a bottle of wine to try and test so we headed down for 7 ready and hungry!

The restaurant is beautiful, split into 2 ‘areas’, the first being the bar area and then the restaurant at the back. There was plenty of room with plenty of tables and we were shown to our table right by a huge window. The staff were absolutely outstanding and special compliments to Craig and Joanne, who waited on us and were so funny and chatty and just made the whole night even better.

We ordered a bottle of Rosé (which Carl drank as I don’t drink and seemed to enjoy even after he couldn’t walk) and two appetizers to of olives and pitta and hummus while we waited. I completely forgot to take photos of these as we were so hungry but it was the nicest hummus I’ve ever had in my life.

Onto our course, for starters I ordered the Wholefood Salad which contained cauliflower and kale couscous, pineapple, pomegranate seeds and avocado. I’ve never tried anything like this before and it was really tasty but also tasted very healthy! Carl ordered the scallops which came in a chilled broccoli soup and he said it was the nicest fish he’d ever had.

Onto mains, I ordered the Roasted Garlic & Salsify Risotto with Fresh Truffle and Wild Mushrooms. It came beautifully presented and a really good size. I couldn’t finish it all because risotto is so filling but it was gorgeous, very garlicky (luckily because I love garlic!) And Carl ordered the medium-rare Sirloin Steak with Peppercorn Sauce, Fries and Onion Rings. The onion rings were amazing and he absolutely devoured his meal too!

And finally, dessert. I had 3 Gelato flavours (chocolate, vanilla and strawberry) which came with a chocolate and vanilla pin will biscuit and Carl ordered the Hot Hazelnut & Chocolate Fondant. Again, both were beautiful. My gelato came with pieces of chocolate and strawberry in and was so flavorful.

We had an amazing time at dinner and headed back up to the suite by around half 9. I had an amazing shower then we watched the end of Dorian Gray, which was on TV. The huge Queen sized bed was incredibly comfortable, although I did wake up a fair few times throughout the night (but I wake up 10 times a night in my own bed as well) but I loved being able to see the sky from the floor to ceiling windows right next to the bed.

And finally, breakfast. We opted for room service instead of heading down to the restaurant. Partly because I’ve never had room service before and wanted to see what it was like. We filled out our card the night before and like clockwork, our breakfast showed up right on time and it was bloody lovely. We chose a selection of meat and cheese, toast, croissants, fresh fruit and yogurt with tea and apple juice.

I literally don’t have a single fault or complaint about the entire stay. From beginning to end, it was perfect. The service as quick and friendly, the suite was impeccable (literally don’t think I’ll ever stay somewhere as nice as that ever again) and the food was out of this world. Even the WiFi didn’t miss a beat. The Brooklands Hotel really prides itself on quality and it shows. Perfect for Motorsport fans (like us!) and perfect for those who want a spa break and a little luxury getaway.

Thank you Brooklands! I hope we’ll see you again sometime!

  1. Wow what an amazing offer Jenny! The hotel absolutely looks gorgeous and high quality indeed. I love that there is a spa in there, as well as an area where you can order food and some tea! I’ve never been on a suite before and I think floor-to-ceiling windows make the room even more impressive! The food all looks delicious and what a good idea to get room service (I’ve never done that despite staying in several hotels in the past)! Thank you so much for sharing, I feel like I’ve already been there through your eyes!
