[AD] I think given the choice, we’d all want to jet off on a romantic and luxurious holiday for Valentine’s Day (or any time of the year, really!) but unfortunately, for most of us, that’s not a realistic options for a number of reasons. If you and your partner are jetting off somewhere exotic this year, enjoy! But if not and you’re opting for a night in instead, this post is for you, lovebirds.

Today I’m teaming up with eShores, who have curated the perfect 10 night holiday which takes you to 3 of the most romantic places in Europe; Venice, Rome and Paris. From private gondola rides, wine tours, taking in the history and doing a spot of luxury shopping, it really is the romantic trip of a lifetime.

However, eShores also recognizes that travelling can’t and won’t be possible for everyone so for those of us staying at home, they’ve created these fabulous hampers, which will bring the holiday to you, in the comfort of your own home!

I was incredibly surprised and pleased with my hamper, which was a little taste of Italy! Home of the best Formula 1 team ever to exist and also the best food (pizza, duh), I was super excited to see what was inside and to try all the goodies. Here’s what was included:

There’s everything you need for a yummy meal in the evening, plus plenty of extra sweet treats for afterwards and to have with a hot drink later on! It was also nice to see that a lot of the savory products were Vegan too, so there’s definitely something for everyone in here.

We nibbled on the sweet treats throughout the day. The macaroons were lovely and the biscotti were particularly yummy with a cup of tea! For dinner I made the simple pasta dish, with the sauce and croutons which was lovely and so flavorful. So much so, that I didn’t even get a chance to take a photo! We cooked some chicken to go with it, which I drizzled the oil over and it had such a beautiful taste.

We finished the night by drinking hot chocolate and watching Rocky. So a successful night in, I’d say!

Romantic destinations I’d love to visit:

I’ve never been a terribly romantic person. My idea of romance isn’t a candlelit 3 course meal in a fancy restaurant followed by a stroll along the river or whatever the fancy pants people do in the movies. Whatever the time of year and wherever I am, the main thing on my mind is that I want to enjoy myself. And as long as you’re doing that then anything can be romantic right?

Austria: I’d love to go to Austria because not only is it beautiful and has some of the most stunning scenery but I’d love to go to the Austrian Grand Prix as it’s one of my favourites on the calendar and the setting is spectacular. My boyfriend and I love Motorsport, so any event would be amazing!

Lapland: I’d love to spend Christmas in Lapland one year. I’ve always wanted to visit Finland but I also love the cold and I think it’d be so magical and romantic!

Norwegian Fjords: Keeping in the same location (ish), I’d also love to go on a cruise around the Norwegian Fjords. The scenery is spectacular and you might even catch a glimpse of the Aurora Borealis!

Santorini: I’m not a huge lover of hot climates but I think at the right time of year, I would just adore Santorini. We’ve all seen the photos – I’d love to go and experience it for myself and I bet it’s one of the most romantic holiday destinations!

I’d love to hear about your ideal Valentine’s Day activities! Have you ever been away for Valentine’s Day? If so, where did you go? And what’s your favourite kind of food to make on a romantic night in?

  1. The shortbread sounds lush!! I kind of want some now! I would love to visit the Fjords too because it sounds so magical! I’d also choose Vienna because of the gondolas along the rivers and Verona because what’s more romantic than Romeo and Juliet!!

  2. This is such a cute idea, having little hampers of food from different places! I’d definitely enjoy the Italy one too. I don’t usually do much on Valentine’s, me and my partner don’t do gifts or cards either, but we just ordered a Domino’s! My romantic getaway would probably be something like Iceland.. just purely for the sights and views would be amazing!

  5. Wow! What an amazing hamper, Jenny! Italian food is the best isn’t it, yay for pizza and pasta! It looks like you got such a wonderful selection of goodies, I’m loving the sound of macaroons and biscotti with a cuppa! Just reading the description of your pasta dish is making me hungry 🙂 It sounds like the perfect night in. I’d love to visit Lapland too, I’ve never actually been on a colder holiday before so this is something I want to experience at some point – at Christmas is would definitely be a magical destination. 6. Another Stallone movie fan here…so much so that we (more the husband than me, really) named our German Shepherd pup Rocky. We’ve ditched the traditional Valentines celebration this year and gone with a donation to the British Heart Foundation instead. It seemed a fitting Valentines gesture. I think with any celebration, its making it meaningful for you that counts.
