GIFTED | Ah Spring. The word on everybody’s lips. Just when Winter felt like it would never end (although I’m not really complaining because I do love Winter) Spring bounced into our lives like the warm, joyous occasion it is. I’ve already seen my first lambs, the swans over at my local lake are getting their nests ready and cherry blossoms are in full bloom around my area. I think collectively, we can all say that Spring is a well loved season.

Spring for me is a time for change, a time for growth, a time for new beginnings, new projects, inspiration and letting go of what doesn’t serve me any more. It’s such a wonderful time of year (apart from the constant sneezing, itchy eyes, blocked nose and not being able to breathe) for so many reasons:

The Formula 1 season begins

Starting off with a bit of a niche reason but as a huge Formula 1 fan, Spring is SO exciting because the new Formula 1 season begins in March. After a long Winter of no racing, the excitement of the new season is palpable.

Cherry blossoms

Literally the prettiest flower? And I think the fact that they don’t bloom for very long makes them even more beautiful. Although they’re the flower that causes my hay fever to seriously flare up, I still admire them when they come out each year!

All the chocolate

Easter Egg chocolate tastes better than regular chocolate. You can fight me on that one. I’m 26 years old and I still get excited about Easter Eggs. It’s the little joys in life, isn’t it? I think Easter is a great time of the year, whether you’re religious or not.

Mother’s Day

I actually do make quite a big effort for Mother’s Day because I think my Mum definitely deserves some treats for being absolutely amazing. We went out for a little afternoon tea at a small local tea room this year, sat outside with the dog and it was a lovely day.

Spring cleaning

I love cleaning, tidying up and de-cluttering things. Spring is an amazing time of year for this because over the Winter, Christmas and New Year, junk and rubbish can really pile up! I de-cutter my space so often that I don’t have an awful lot to do this Spring but I’ll definitely make an effort somehow!

Sitting outside

I work from home, so I’m always happy when it’s warm enough to take my laptop and a cup of tea outside in the garden and work from there instead of being cooped up indoors! Working from home is a tough gig as it is so a change of scenery can really boost your spirits.

A boost of inspiration

Like I mentioned at the beginning, I always find Spring to be an amazing time for motivation and inspiration in both my blog and business and my personal life! It’s a time when I’m inspired, want to start new projects, make more plans and get excited for the year ahead!

Introducing Missguided Body Mists…

This post has a bit of a hidden agenda because I’m also here to introduce you to the Missguided Body Mist collection! After the success of their bestselling debut fragrance, Babe Power, they introduced the body mist collection, a light and refreshing alternative to your standard fragrance, perfect for busy babes on the go!

The Missguided body mists come in 4 different scents but I was kindly sent 2 to try out for myself. First of all, a quick note to say that I absolutely love the packaging. I think it’s neat and chic and for £10 a bottle, you get an awful lot of product in these bottles.

The first scent I tried was Unicorn Dreams (also, the names of these scents are amazing!) which comes in this lovely clear pinkish bottle. Unicorn Dreams smells very floral and summery with a lot going on. It includes coconut, lily of the valley and rose with base notes of vanilla, dry amber and sandalwood with more fruity and floral scents thrown in. It’s a perfect scent for Spring and Summer. Perhaps a little too floral and sweet for my personal taste but I can see why people love this one.

The next one was Boy Tears which I absolutely adored! I love this simple white and pink bottle design too. It definitely didn’t smell a floral and fruity to me as Unicorn Dreams. If anything, I thought it smelt a bit more on the masculine side which I really like and is the kind of scent I go for in fragrance anyway. With bergamot, raspberry and peony infused with amber including wisps of lemon, lime, mandarin and cedar.

I’d love to hear the reasons why you love Spring in the comments below! And have you ever tried the Missguided Body Mists? Which one would you go for?

  1. Hi Jenny,
Love your writing. The hidden of the Misguided Mists was a great change from mentioning your favorite things about Spring to showcasing the mists. Excellently done. We haven’t had much of a Spring yet. It’s still cold here in San Francisco. Thank you for your post. Raheela

  2. I didn’t know Missguided did scents! I usually buy body mist scents from Victoria Secret or Gilly Hicks and spray it in my room and over my duvet but might try the above on my next shop because it’s such great value! I like reading your plans for Spring. I definitely need to walk outside more otherwise I get really antsy but I also get bad hay faver! Hope you have a wonderful rest of Spring lovely! Looking forward to reading more of your posts! Monica xx

  3. This might sound a little weird but I love mists like this as air fresheners/ room sprays. I think they smell so much nicer than an actual air freshener. From the ones you’ve described here, I think I’d go for Boy Tears! I love winter but I am looking forward to the option of not wearing a coat, it’s still really cold though. We had gritters out the night before last, I think we’re jumping straight to summer this year? x

  4. My best friends partner is a big Formula 1 fan! I could never get into it personally. So that will be him happy for a while!

I love spring for the simple reason that the heaviness of winter starts to shift, and you can finally open the windows again (when there isn’t a storm that is).

My sister uses the Unicorn Dreams mist and it’s beautiful! I always steal some every time I’m home!

    As always, wonderful post!

  5. Love the sound of both of these and I really like the packaging for both too! 🙂 I tend to favour fruity & sweet scents but not too floral. I’ll have to take a look at the other two that they have. 😀

  6. Oh, I do like it when Spring comes, the lovely blossoms and plants coming through; as well as the lighter nights! I must admit my preferred season is Summer, but that’s only because of the summer travel season, and all the lovely places to visit!

I haven’t tried the missguided body mists, but I do like the sound of the two you have mentioned here. They sound quite similar to the Hawaiian Tropic and Victoria Secret’s body mists which I love.

Thanks for sharing and happy spring!

  7. I haven’t tried anything from this brand before but I like the sound of Boy Tears (great name, haha) as I’m a citrus fan. I think you know by now that I’m a Spring and Summer girl, and Spring is one of my favourite seasons because of everything I can see in my garden 🙂 Just being outside in the fresh air and getting my hands dirty marks the change in seasons for me, I love it! X

  8. I love spring time! Espacially the days getting long and warmer. I’ve heard a lot of good things about the miss guided body sprays but I haven’t had the chance to try them yet, boy tears sounds like the right scent for me! Great post x

  9. Ah I love spring. The warmth and the light definitely helps with my mood and inspiration, especially now the evenings are getting lighter. These mists sound great. I think I’d be with you on the Unicorn Dreams but the other one sounds great. I’m rubbish at remembering to put perfume on, so maybe this lighter fragrance is the way to go. Great post!

  10. Ooh, Unicorn Dreams (cute name!) sounds like my kinda perfume, I love fruity and floral scents. Spring is a good time of year for me too, it’s my birthday and Easter all in the same week. And I agree, Easter chocolate always tastes better, I have eaten a ridiculous amount of mini eggs already they are so addictive, ha ha! Great post and gorgeous photos too <3 xxx

  11. These body mists sound lovely! I have no idea they made them as well as perfumes. I also get excited for the F1 season in Spring, along with seeing our pear tree starting to bloom, daffodils popping up and getting ready for some much needed decluttering.
