Find your style

There are so many different styles of venue to choose. From hotels, museums, churches and even stadiums! If you’re not a religious couple, you’ll want to avoid a church. If you’re not a football fan, you’ll probably want to avoid a stadium. But finding a happy medium for the pair of you is so important!

Think about your location

With so many guests probably coming to your wedding from all over (unless it’s a super intimate thing) then you’ll want to think about location. It can be easy to assume your home town is best but sometimes, the city might be a better and more convenient option.

So it’s worth consider not only your location but all the other points here and picking out a few different venues so you give yourself some options!

Remember your budget

Arguably one of the most important points to consider but it’s worth reminding yourself of your budget. When researching all these amazing venues and things you need for your wedding, it can be easy to get carried away! Definitely remind yourself of your budget but allow yourself room for all those wonderful extras that are going to make your day special, such as cakes, DJ’s and photographers, where you might consider a company like Ignite Images!

Consider accessibility

Do you have elderly, ill or disabled guests attending your wedding? If the answer is yes, then it’s definitely worth considering when it comes to finding the perfect wedding venue. You don’t want any guests to have a bad experience at your wedding. And accessibility is SO important.

If you’re married, how did you go about finding your perfect wedding venue? If not, what type of venue would be perfect for you?

  1. These tips are invaluable in finding the perfect wedding venue! Couples will surely benefit from your insights in their quest. Thank you for sharing this thoughtful guide.

  2. I’ve found mine for next year and I agree with all these tips. Location is a good one. We originally wanted a location an hour’s drive away and were willing to book without even seeing it. Then we made the drive ourselves and realised it wasn’t so comfy, especially if you had a full bladder, so we reconsidered.
