AD – This post is a paid advertorial with The Pro Co. also containing gifted items

Entering the new decade as a 27 year old woman without a proper skincare routine is something I am not willing to do. The fact of the matter is, I’m not getting any younger. And neither is my skin. So if I don’t start taking care of it properly now – I probably never will. And I’m going to regret it. Luckily, as my anxiety has gotten better and better over the last 6 months, my love for all things beauty is coming back so I’ve been eager to try new products.

Initial thoughts on The Pro Co.

And today I’m sharing my thoughts on 3 eco friendly serums from The Pro Co. with you – which were kindly sent to me in exchange for a review. I will be honest, I’d never heard of this brand prior to being sent the products. But that’s okay because discovering new brands is all part of the fun.

I think the first thing worth mentioning is the packaging. I’m quite big on packaging as I think a lot of people are. Good (or bad) packaging can really taint your view of a brand – before you’ve even tried the products usually! So first impressions are pretty important.

Although not particularly fancy or eye-catching, I do like the packaging here. It’s neat, precise and has all the information you need up front. You don’t have to dig around the back to try and figure out what the product is supposed to do. I particularly like the bottles that the product is in.

But the best part is that The Pro Co. help to tackle environmental issues by creating eco-friendly packaging that contains less than 2% plastic! And continuing on with the environmental element of this brand, they’re also formulated and manufactured in the UK and are also Vegan. So double win.

20% Vitamin C Serum with Hyaluronic Acid

The first product is the 20% Vitamin C serum. Now I will be honest, I’m always a bit apprehensive with products like this because ones I’ve used in the past have just made me look greasy. There’s no way I could have applied them and gone out in public because people would have assumed I had a fever and was sweating profusely. But that’s absolutely NOT the case with these.

Firstly, this serum has a really lovely scent. It’s not overpowering but it’s very spa-like. In fact, it reminds me of the smell of the oils that are used when I go for a massage. This serum is to be applied twice daily, after cleansing and onto a clean, dry face. Two drops of the serum easily covers my whole face so another positive point is that these products are likely to last you a VERY long time. Unless you have a VERY big face.

And as I said, this one doesn’t make you look greasy or oily in the slightest. Even times where I’ve applied a little more than usual, you can still work it completely into the skin. However, if you were having a no face make-up day, applying this would give you a really fresh and healthy looking glow.

I’ve loved using this serum every day and night – it’s been a real treat for my skin. I feel like my skin looks and feels tighter and has a bit more colour and fullness to it. Which is perfect for this time of year when everything is so busy and hectic!

Anti Wrinkle Eye Rescue Serum

I’ve used an eye cream for months now and I’ve not felt like I’ve seen any results what-so-ever. I won’t name and shame the brand but I was a bit disappointed. So I was eager to see if this eye serum gave me better results. This one is also to be used twice daily, day and night, after cleansing and to a clean, dry face.

One drop is easily enough for under one eye. If anything, one drop might be a little too much. So again, this product will last you bloody FOREVER. Which is brilliant. I apply this before the Vitamin C serum has this one obviously has to be applied more precisely.

The eye serum doesn’t have a scent (not one that I can smell anyway) which I don’t mind at all, considering it’s going near your eyes. And like the first one, you can work this one right into the skin as well so your under-eye area isn’t greasy or oily at all. But have I actually seen a difference? Well in terms of the anti wrinkle properties, no, not yet. I don’t think I really have any eye wrinkles just yet but hopefully with consistent use of this, I won’t for a while.

However, the brightening effects are definitely kicking in. The area around my eyes look brighter, tighter and with much less obvious dark under eyes. A better way to explain is that I feel like my eye area looks younger. Which is always a bonus. I’m also loving incorporating this into my skincare routine and giving some love to an area of my face I’ve not REALLY bothered to think about before.

7% Micro Encapsulated Retinol Serum

This Retinol face serum is like a wonder serum. Some of the properties include: increase in firmness, reducing the appearance of fine lines, smoothing and refining the skin tone, lowers irritation and enhances penetration. Which means a smaller, safer dose of higher strength Retinol can be delivered deeper into the skin.

As I’m using the Vitamin C serum twice daily, this is the one I’ll probably use the least. However I have also told my Mum she’s welcome to use it too so it certainly won’t go to waste in this house. This particular serum is only to be used once a day – in the evening, after cleansing, to a clean, dry face. For best results, used before the eye rescue serum.

This smells similar to the Vitamin C serum – subtle but a spa-like scent which makes you feel like you’re giving your skin the absolute best love and care. And like all the serums, this one is still Vegan and cruelty-free. For such a powerful serum, which such a focus on being environmentally friendly and with such high quality ingredients, it really is staggering that these are just £7.99 each.

Fancy a 20% discount?

Of course! Each serum retails for just £7.99 but as it’s Christmas, you can get a 20% discount on any of the 3 featured in this blog post. We all know money is tight this time of year, so every little really does help. And I’m a firm believer in TREATING YOURSELF. So consider this your invitation to treat your skin to the gift of glow this Christmas season!

Have you tried any of these serums? Which one would you go for? Do you treat yourself during the Christmas period? Let me know!

  3. I love that their packaging is eco-friendly! I haven’t heard of this brand before but I’m really liking the sound of their products, being a huge skincare junkie.

  4. I really enjoyed the eye rescue, it sat really well underneath the makeup. Interesting to know you enjoyed the vitamin C one so much, my skin is really sensitive to vitamin C products so I haven’t been able to try that one yet (waiting until after festive season because I’m 99% certain I’ll get a rash) x

  5. I’ve been trying these products too and have been enjoying them. Obviously not really long enough to see what the final results would be, given it takes around 28 days for skin cell turnover. I do have high hopes for them though as they seem really good so far. 🙂

  6. I’ve never heard of this brand before and I was so surprised when I read that these serums retail for only £7.99 each – what a steal! I would gladly try the Eye Rescue serum as I have dark under-eye circles, but they all sound great!

  7. I’m like you when you find new brands that work amazing! I love the sound of the Eye Rescue Serum because my dark circles are a nightmare! Thanks for these!

  8. These sound great! I get dark circles under my eyes and am yet to find a product that completely makes them go away, so I would be curious to try the Eye Rescue Serum especially.
I love that they are vegan, cruelty-free and have eco-friendly packaging, because those things are important to me and I’m gradually making the switch to eco-friendly products.

  9. Great to see skincare in eco-friendly packaging! I’m quite sceptical of anti-ageing/anti-wrinkle products because I’ve not yet seen results with them, and there seem to be a lot of mixed reviews. Interested to try these though as I’m starting to get some creases around my eyes!
