Different Ways To Make Money Online That ISN’T Blogging

AD – This is an advertorial feature with J5Fashion

Over the years, there’s been more and more different ways to make money. Were my grandparents alive, they’d be utterly dumbfounded and confused over the fact I make money from writing things on online (and that’s after I’d have explained to them what “online” was!) But, technology is a wonderful thing (sometimes) and it’s definitely opened up our world and opportunities. So here are some different ways to make money online that ISN’T blogging:

Buying and selling wholesale clothing

Fashion is a big market so selling clothes online could be a good way to make money and even turn it into a full-time career. J5Fashion are a supplier of wholesale men and women’s clothing to big UK and non-UK based retail companies and wholesalers such as Boohoo, Pretty Little Thing, Pink Boutique, I Saw It First and more where we are also encouraging the newly start-up in-store and online boutiques selling via social medias and retailers such as justyourotufit etc. with an affordable fashion trend collections from past 10+ years.

J5Fashion supply wholesale clothing in the latest trends in both men and women’s fashion. Their new in women’s section contains some great pieces of faux leather, PU and satin shin which are all noteworthy trends at the moment. Some of my top picks include:

Obviously fashion is a huge industry so I can totally see the appeal of buying and selling clothes online. If you’re into fashion, this could be a good one for you to get your foot in the door of the fashion industry and spark up inspiration for selling your own pieces perhaps. The HUGE range on J5Fashion of options and styles is bound to spark inspiration. After 12 years of service, J5Fashion offer brilliant customer service, quick delivery and have a friendly team who are always on hand to help.

Survey sites

Obviously this one isn’t going to make you big bucks but it’s a handy little option if you’re looking to make a little extra cash each month. I wrote a blog post last year about the 3 top survey sites I use to make extra cash on my blog.

Matched betting

This isn’t something I’ve dabbled in yet although I really want to. Truth be told, I’m a little nervous about it. But some have had fantastic results on using matched betting, making hundreds a month. Matched betting is a technique whereby you profit from the free bets and incentives offered by bookmakers. If you’re a betting person, this one might be worth a try!

Sell your own creations on eBay or Etsy

A pretty obvious one but a good way to make money online that isn’t blogging is to sell your own products, artwork and creations on a platform such as eBay or Etsy. If you’re looking to really grow a business from it – Etsy is the one to use. This is a good option for those who still enjoy being on social media and promoting their own work.

Mystery shopping

I’ve done a bit of mystery dining in the past and although I was only paid for the meal, it was a great experience. Mystery shopping is where companies hire agencies to recruit mystery shoppers for various jobs and assignments. Shoppers will have to report back to the agency and receive a fee for doing so.

Fiverr or freelancing

If you’re not a blogger but love writing, then this is a good one for you. Freelance writing can be a great earner once you build up your reputation and client base. Often with repeat clients coming back to you for work time and time again. Fiverr is a good place to start with your freelance writing career!

Sell things you no longer need

Another fairly obvious one but ensuring you have a regular clear out of your house and sell the things you no longer need rather than just throwing them in the bin is a great way to make money. So if you don’t fancy getting up at 4am to do a car boot sale, check out eBay or Depop instead!

Do you make money online? Do you use any of the methods mentioned here?

  1. These are amazing ideas! I’ve always been wary of survey sites and other websites because I was worried about scams/viruses. If friends use them though, I may give them a go!

  8. Online surveys are great for a little extra cash, especially around busier periods like Christmas and birthdays, like you said it’s not big amounts of cash but if you need to buy a present or something it really helps when it comes to getting a nice discount. Great tips, thanks for sharing x

    1. I’ve done some mystery dining before – it’s really fun!

      1. Great suggestions! I have two that I use to get Amazon vouchers – uploading receipts to an app, and taking pics of jobs going for Indeed. Not much, but it adds up! I also used to do transcriptions with Rev but felt the pay wasn’t worth the effort and time.

  11. These are all such fantastic tips! I’ve been doing freelance translations for years and it’s something I absolutely love – I recently started offering copywriting services in both languages too. After reading your post, I’m tempted to give survey sites and mystery shopping a try – they both sound like such an interesting way to make some extra money!

Selling bits online that you don’t need is such a good idea and stops so much unnecessary waste where possible! I’ve never heard of Fiverr before so I’ll have to check it out x

  14. So many good tips here! 🙂 🙂 🙂

    1. Thank you x

  15. A great way to make a little extra cash on the side, I find, is doing transcriptions. It’s the kind of job I can knock out in a relatively short period of time to bring in some extra cash when needed.

    1. I tried doing that but found it too hard x

  16. I also use Google Opinion Rewards! It’s definitely not anything mind blowing, but it pays for apps and extra bits I buy from the play store, it even covers my subscription to a yoga app! Some great ideas here Jenny 🙂

  17. These tips are amazing! Thank you my lovely!

    1. Thank you x

  19. I would consider survey participation to vent my emotions about political unrest. So it would be difficult for me to avoid bias in my selections. I wonder how many would have a similar problem.

  20. It’s interesting to see how many ways there are of making money online away from blogging! Some of these I’ll be looking into! x

  23. I did survey sites when I was a student – I really appreciated the little bits of extra cash and the occasional product I was sent to test! I also had a phase of selling my unneeded things on eBay, but lately I have just been taking them to charity shops because it takes less time and effort!
I’ve never heard of matched betting before – might have to check that out!

    1. It’s definitely a bit of effort with eBay but sometimes worth it for sure!

  24. I am going to give those sites a try.

    1. Good luck x

  25. I love using survey sites for a little extra cash each month! Sites like Prolific are brill. Love all of these tips though 🙂 xx
