ad collaborative post // With 2022 well underway and resolutions already in full-swing, home renovation and rejuvenation projects are at the top of the list for many people looking to achieve a space that feels fresh and inviting, helping to clear the mind for the year ahead.

Looking for ways to keep productive and save time on your home’s upkeep throughout the new year and beyond? To help give you some ideas, we’ve put together a quick guide with three home & garden ideas that might save you time in 2022. Read on to find out more!

Switching to Artificial Grass

Maintaining a neat and tidy garden takes a lot of time and effort, which is why an increasing number of people in the UK are looking towards artificial grass as an easy, affordable alternative in 2022. Got a garden space that you don’t have the time to cut, water, and look after regularly? Consider switching to artificial grass and maintain your ideal garden look without the hassle that comes along with it.

Fake grass is also a great solution for pet owners that are sick of having to clean up after their furry friend running in and out of the garden with muddy paws. So long as you get a dog-friendly range (such as the ones offered by the likes of Grass Warehouse), most breeds love to play on the turf, and it removes the need for pesticides that can contain pesticides harmful to your pet.

Integrating Smart Home Technology

Thinking about ways to incorporate more smart technology into your home lifestyle in 2022 will not only make your space feel more futuristic and forward-thinking, but it can also help to boost productivity. Syncing up smart devices throughout the home such as smart lighting, heating, and security systems, for example, to your weekday and weekend routines, can help your space to work around you like a well-oiled machine.

You can even add solar post lights outdoors to keep your garden bright in the evening. Some solar lights are also motion activate, which is great for security. Plus, these lights can shave off several bucks on your energy bill and save you more in the long run.

Most people already own smart speakers already in their homes, and smart tech can be as affordable as you want it to be. Just make sure that when you’re buying a new piece of kit that it works with the stuff that you already have plugged in at home!

Making the Most of Minimalism

Feeling the need to declutter your home, and get back to basics? Minimalism is a popular interior design trend that you might want to try. Strip back the unnecessary furniture and decorations in order to maximise floor space, and consider repainting with neutral, light tones that feel inviting and reflect light to give a grander scale to rooms.

Anticipate that you’ll be working from home a lot more in 2022? Building a sleek, streamlined workspace has been proven to help with concentration and productivity. If you haven’t already, carve out a section of the home for your workspace to help separate work from play, and keep your space neat and tidy so that you don’t dread sitting down to work each day.

  1. As usual my husband and I have been dragging our feet on getting our garden done for years now. I want to keep it minimalist, he wants fancy! We would have loved artifical grass to cut back on mowing but sadly that as upwards of 10k (Our garden is a glorified postage stamp, mind you). So paving will be the best we can do to save time on mowing/strimming.
