ad // There are 2 things in all of our lives that can seriously impact our everyday overall well-being; stress and sleep. These two little words can have such a profound effect on how we feel. We’re told time and time again to limit our stress and get more sleep yet we rarely listen and still stress over a ton of things we can’t control and stay up too late watching Bridgerton.
Sometimes we might need a little extra help in combatting the stresses of every day life and getting more adequate and quality sleep and that’s absolutely okay and nothing to be ashamed of. There’s no shame in taking anti-depressants for your mental health, sleeping tablets for your sleep or things like CBD oil for an extra overall well-being boost that you might need daily.
PSA: If you’re taking or thinking of taking any CBD related products, please do your own research before making your decision. Research the brand and products thoroughly and speak to a doctor if you have any additional questions about if taking CBD oil is safe for you. We’re all different, what works for one person might not work for another. It’s important to take your own health needs into consideration, not base your decision just on what someone on the internet has said.

Who are Columbia Care?
Columbia Care are a leading producer of science-driven, cannabis plant-based therapies in the U.S, and they take their expertise and knowledge in this area to produce a trustworthy range of wellbeing supplements.
To ensure the quality of their 100% organic hemp, the growers in the U.S. use a regenerative farming system to help recycle nutrients, retain water and minimize dependence on additives and agro-toxics. They also let their resident bees do the work of pollinating plants and managing pests so they rarely need to use organic pesticides.

CBD SoftGel Capsules 30 Capsule Bottle Broad Spectrum 10%
If you prefer a capsule, then those are available too! The CBD SoftGel Capsules contain 10% CBD oil, are easy to swallow and are THC-free, 100% Organic, Vegan, and non-GMO. You should take the capsules INSTEAD of the oil, not as well as. It’s just a great option for those who would prefer an capsule.
How should you take these products?
For the CBD oil, it is recommended to take a 0.25ml dosage through the pipette once a day – prefably before bedtime and at roughly the same time each day, if possible. Columbia Care suggest upping your dose after one week but only if you want or need to. The maximum dosage you can take is 70mg – 2 and a half capsules.
You don’t need to up your dosage at all, if you don’t want to. It’s entirely up to you and if you feel comfortable and content with the lowest dosage and feel like it’s benefitting you, then by all means, you should keep doing that. Monitor how you feel – you will instinctively know if and when you need to go up or down a dosage.
I personally prefer the oil with the pipette as I feel like I have more control over the dosage and what I’m putting under my tongue. As someone with a previous severe anxiety disorder, I have to be careful when considering products like this. The thought of going backwards in my recovery journey is terrifying.
So having that element of control – even if it is all psychological – really helped me. Although taking CBD oil isn’t going to completely cure any wellness issues I have (like waking up multiple times in the night), it is another added element to my routine that is helping me find balance – something I’m hugely passionate about and always wanting to find more of.
Quick tips for dealing with stress and sleep issues
We will all deal with stress in our lives; it’s a normal (although annoying) part of the human experience. But letting stress go on for too long can have a really damaging impact on your well-being. Chronic stress can lead to chronic diseases but getting it under control and having coping mechanisms on hand can be a huge benefit. Here are some quick tips for dealing with stress and sleep issues:
- Take a look at your diet. Diet and stress can be linked and you can read more about that link in this post about stress and nutrition
- Seek advice from a doctor or a mental health professional if your stress is chronic and is affecting your physical and mental well-being
- Limit your coffee and caffeine intake if you’re experiencing a lot of stress
- Establish a night-time routine that works for you; avoid excessive use of screens, give yourself time to wind down, journal and create a relaxing space to sleep in
- Exercise and move your body. This will help to relieve stress and make you sleep better, so win-win!
- Have people to talk to and a support system that allows you to speak freely about your stress issues

Oh this is such an interesting read! I avoid CBD everything tbh but that’s my pharmacy head doing that, I know it can help so many in different ways xx
Ah that’s fair enough, you gotta do what feels right for you!
I am one of those people who will not function on no sleep, so I always try my best to get as much sleep as I possibly can even at the worst of times. Funnily enough, I tried my first CBD drops for sleep last night and I went down like a little log. I might be sold already!
Wow that’s amazing! So glad to hear that!
When I’m stressed, I make a cuppa, sit down for five and write a list of everything that’s on my mind. It really helps to see it all written down and that take it one step at a time.
Oh yes that’s really helpful, something so small really can work wonders.
I defiantly notice the lack of sleep in my life is starting to have an effect on my mood, so these products sound really great for helping with that. I haven’t ever tried CBD before but it’s something I’ve done my research about over time and it’s something I’m defiantly looking into. These products both sound amazing, I’ll defo be looking into their brand more. Thank you so much for sharing with us lovely Xo

All sound good to me!
So excited that this company is in the U.S! I find that pipettes also give me better control over dosage of everything from CBD to herbal tinctures, and I have heard that CBD has several amazing benefits that help with both anxiety and sleep. Love that you also recommend some basic practices we can take up to help us sleep better. 🙂
Yes I do love a pipette product!

Good idea if you’re not a fan of capsules! With the oil you can start with a super small dose and see how it works for you!
I’ve never heard of this brand, but I love using a CBD based lotion! I tend to use it before bed, and really helps to relax me. I’m going to check out the CBD oil. Great post xx

Oooh yes I bet that’s super relaxing!
Having a good night’s sleep is so important to our overall health. I tried a lot of things when I suffered from insomnia, but at the the time I hadn’t heard anything about CBD so that wasn’t one of them but I’ve heard from many that it’s super effective.
It definitely can be! Maybe something to keep in mind for the future!
I’m always open to trying new CBD based products. Great review!
Thank you 🙂 x
Thank you for sharing this post, Jenny. It was quite an interesting read. There’s a lot here to consider, that I think could help a lot of people.

Thank you x
I’d definitely need to try the wee tablets. My sleep has been horrible since I’ve had to get back into a routine for full time work. I’ve been exhausted and unable to do very much after coming home, but still want to be able to write and keep up with my blogging.
Ah I’m sorry to hear you’re struggling with that. I hope you find something that helps soon xxx
The CBD related products sounds good. Cannabis is pretty much banned in my country. I have avoided coffee altogether. I go for long walks. I want to come out of medications for depression eventually.
Long walks are always good. Remember that it’s nothing to be ashamed of, taking medication for depression, even if it is long term.
I work night shifts so getting good sleep is so important for me and sometimes difficult during the day. I’d never thought of CBD oil to help with sleep, so this was interesting to learn and think about. Mostly for my sleep I depend on having a routine and finding ways to quiet my mind before heading to bed.
Wow I don’t think I could do night shifts, I bet that’s a huge learning curve with managing your sleep and routine!
