In May I worked with a fab shoe company, xylondon on a review of a pair of their boots. I bloody love these boots and have certainly got some wear out of them since receiving them so I can hand on heart, recommend this brand for all your boot-related-needs. I was thrilled when they wanted to work with me again on a more Summer-themed shoe post so I hopped onto the website and had a good old browse for something more summery. And I found the cutest pair of shoes which I can’t wait to share with you!
Bettering yourself is of course something that everyone must do. It might not feel like it, but it’s true. You better yourself in a thousand small ways every day. It might be you decide not to pig out on chocolate and instead eat a salad for lunch. You might decide to drive very safely and keep to that each day. You might decide to be friendly to people as a default. This might be your good nature and it might come easy to you, but that is absolutely ‘bettering’ yourself on a daily basis, in that you are always acting towards an ideal. People often forget to see the value in their character, and are too quick to see the flaws they have. Sometimes the best feeling in the world is to think ‘oh yeah, actually I’m not that bad at all.’ An intense requirement of modesty and humility is espoused as being completely necessary in the modern day, but sometimes feeling proud of yourself is absolutely necessary.
If you’re hopelessly devoted to Sandy, Danny and the Grease gang, you might be aware that this year marks the 40th anniversary of the original movie, can you believe it?! The timeless film, with the lovable characters, dream-worthy outfits and catchy as heck songs came out 40 years ago and it’s time to celebrate that, don’t you think? Not many films gain the caliber that Grease did and will hold up as one of the most loved movies of all time. I would definitely pop it in maybe my top 10 favourites and you can bet your bottom dollar that I know every last word to We Go Together (like rama lama lama ka dinga da dinga dong). Here’s some fun as heck things you can do to celebrate the 40th anniversary this year!
I get a lot of comments about how organised I am with my blog, wondering how I’ve scheduled content 2 months in advance and how I juggle so much at the same time. I get these comments because I regularly mention these things on Twitter; I’m proud of what I do and I like to share those moments with my Twitter followers and there’s absolutely nothing wrong with that. I love my blog (not every day – mind you!), I love writing and producing content, replying to comments, reading other people’s blogs, brainstorming blog post ideas and powering through my to do list each day. I have no problem doing these things over and over again because I’m motivated to do them. And to be frank, I’m more motivated now than I’ve probably ever been before.
If you get an email asking if you’d like to review cupcakes, you’re going to say yes. So when Caketoppers * emailed me and asked if I’d like to try and review some of their cupcakes, I said yes. Obviously. I love food and I’m certainly not going to turn down an opportunity to test some – especially cakes! Caketoppers specialise is edible photo cake toppers, on cakes and cupcakes for a whole range of occasions, choosing from chocolate sponge, classic sponge of a mixture of both! I was sent one of each to try and here’s what I thought!
In a society where self-care has become such a huge focus in the recent years and months, we’re often told that “these are the things we need to do when we’re feeling down / ill / depressed, in order to improve ourselves” and well, make ourselves feel that little bit better. And whilst that’s great; we all need these coping mechanisms for our down days – we often think only about self care in times of “need”. Boyfriend break up with you? Self care day. Rough day at work? Self care evening. Having a bad time with your mental health? Self bloody care. And again, this is brilliant and we totally should focus on our self care when we’re having a rough time but what about all the other time? You know, all the other days of the year when we’re not having a bad day, our boyfriends haven’t just broken up with us and our mental health is on a pretty good keel. What then?
Nobody starts off being good at business, it is something that you need to learn, develop and perfect. When you are able to do this, you can then go on to really start being better at everything you do and you may even find that you start getting way better results out of the campaigns that you run as well.
Having a disability may be seen by many as a hindrance, but as people with disabilities know themselves, it’s an absolute sign of strength when you overcome potential obstacles and fulfill your aspirations. Travelling may be one of those said aspirations, and having a disability is no reason to head abroad and see the world. Here’s how to do it.
For anyone that doesn’t know, my favourite genre to read is a Thriller and all the sub-genres of Thriller. Crime Thriller, Psychological Thriller, Supernatural Thriller – if it has Thriller in the title then I am all for it. It’s funny how your taste in books changes as you grow isn’t it? A good few years ago I absolutely loved Chick-Lit novels but that’s not a genre I tend to go for anymore just because my tastes have changed as I’ve grown. And that’s totally okay. So anyway, Thriller’s are my go-to genre now. I absolutely love the suspense, the build up, the secrets, the confusion and usually the epic twists at the end. Of course not all Thrillers tick all the boxes and I know not everyone likes or reads full-length book reviews, which is totally okay, so here’s a quick run down of 7 books you need to read if, like me, you love a good Thriller.
