Around this time 4 years ago, Jenny in Neverland was born. 4 flipping years ago. First of all, I can’t believe I’ve stuck at something for so long; I was notoriously known in school for picking up a hobby, being totally engrossed for a month then the novelty wore right off. Flute, piano, dancing, drama, art – you name it. But this isn’t school anymore and this isn’t just a hobby anymore and I had no idea 4 years ago that blogging would become such a huge, important and vital part of my daily life. But it has and although it’s not been completely smooth sailing and there’s been a fair few bumps in the road, I still love blogging now as much as ever. So I’m here celebrating my blog’s 4th birthday and I’d love for you to join me!
This March -slash- April -slash- May, I would have been blogging for 4 years, (I can’t remember exactly what month I started; I seemed to think it was March but WordPress tells me it’s May but whatever) so I won’t be doing any giveaways with this post, as I normally would, because I’d like to wait until my 4th blog anniversary and go completely and utterly overboard then but for me, hitting 2,000 unique blog followers (I say unique blog followers because that is just including WordPress reader followers, email followers and bloglovin followers – it doesn’t count twitter and Facebook) is somewhat of a milestone and I think it warrants a little blog post, mostly just to say a big huge thank you to everyone who follows and reads my blog.
I’m about to say all the same stuff that everyone says in all of their blogoversary posts but I don’t care because 3 whole years I’ve been blogging for (near enough) and where oh where has that time gone?
Last month, Jenny in Neverland was shortlisted for Blog of the Year at the Love Stories awards. My best friend popped up on Facebook chat one morning and asked if I’d seen and I had absolutely no idea what she was talking about. An hour later, I was still convinced that there was some sort of mistake. And that’s not me being modest, heck if I wasn’t surprised, I wouldn’t have acted it but out of all the incredible book bloggers out there, why on Earth was I shortlisted?
On what crazy ass planet am I sitting here writing this post? In case you hadn’t guessed from the title, my little blog has reached one thousand unique WordPress followers. A thousand of you crazy people are following me and my *sometimes ridiculous* ramblings; why you’d want to, I’ll never know but you are and I could never ever thank you enough.
Can you quite believe it’s been 2 years since little Jenny in Neverland was born? I sure can’t. These two years have gone so quickly and it seems like only yesterday I was sitting here writing my post for my 1st blogoversary! Continue reading
Earlier this year, Becca from Beccas Books and Tay from Chicks That Read announced The Book Blogger Awards; different categories in which you vote for your favourite book blogger who fits under that category. It was a lot of fun and got a lot of buzz around the book blogging community and on the 11th and 12th March they announced the winners and…
I won an award!
Just before 2014 was out, my little blog reached 500 followers. Shortly after that, it hit 30,000 page views. So to celebrate these milestones, I wanted to write a little post to express my gratitude for all your support and host a couple of awesome giveaways as a thank you! Continue reading
I am absolutely honoured to be nominated for this award (I sound like I’m giving a speech at the Oscars… *daydreams*) by the lovely Jenny from SmallGirlBigDreams1993. Her blog has become one of my favourites over the past few months so you should definitely go and check it out! A few days later I was nominated again by Lucy from Absolutely Lucy who’s blog is so inspiring! It’s so encouraging to know that someone thinks so highly of your blog to nominate you for an award so thank you much and to everyone else who reads my posts.
I was also nominated for The Versatile Blogger Award by my gorgeous friend Simona who blogs at Sky’s Book Corner. The Versatile Blogger Award is very similar as in you have to list some fact about yourself. As I’d literally just done this with the Very Inspiring Blogger Award, I figured there’s no point in me making an entirely separate post as I’d run out of facts about myself! So as Simona did, I’m putting them in the same post!
So, what’s this award all about? Continue reading
