New online businesses are popping up everywhere at the moment. Especially over the last year or so of lockdown and pandemic, more and more people are leaning towards self employment and starting their owns blogs and businesses. As a full-time blogger, this makes me really happy to see. I love watching people follow their passions and make a living from it.
Of course owning a business isn’t for everyone and job shaming can well and truly get in the bin. But if you are one of the people who would like to own your own business and become self employed – maybe now or somewhere down the line – then I hope this post can give you some helpful suggestions!
Because obviously you can’t just open an online business willy-nilly. You need to understand your branding, your customers and most importantly… have something to sell. I’ve compiled a list in this post of things that can be sold in your online business. Some might require some additional qualifications or skills – so keep that in mind!
It’s important to follow your passions as much as you can, so take a look at this list and see what you can find which you love. Perhaps you ALREADY do this thing but haven’t considered selling it. Or you have a qualification which would allow you to really thrive off of starting a business!
Artwork and paintings: If you’re good at art and can create something new, exciting and beautiful then this could be an amazing option for you! I love purchasing from creators that sell their own artwork.
Jewellery: Have you SEEN the creators on Twitter who make jewellery? I could look at their stunning pieces for hours. Jewellery making is really popular so if you have a knack for that type of craft, this is certainly something to consider.
Wholesale clothing, shoes and more: If you’d like to open an online shop and are a fan of fashion then selling wholesale might be a good option for you! You can get wholesale cloths and wholesale boots available online to get you started with your online wholesale business!
The vaping industry is also looking like a lucrative industry to be a part of as more & more users shift to buying vaping products online. If this industry interests you at all speak to a specialist vape wholesaler supplier such as Eco Vape. They manufacture their own e-liquid as well as suppling a great range of vaping hardware.
eBooks and courses: Depending on your niche or which industry you’re part of, selling eBooks or courses on your specialties is a great way to make money and expand your online business.
Brownies, food and sweet treats: Online pal Tiffany opened her homemade brownies business Bear’s Brownies and More not too long ago and they are some of the BEST brownies I’ve ever had!
Crafts and craft supplies: Crafts are always a win when it comes to small businesses and I think over the year of COVID, more people are leaning towards these sort of slow living activities.
Designing services: All businesses need design work. So if you’re a great graphic designer, perhaps YOUR business could be exactly that. Offering design services for bloggers or brands who need a re-vamp and a re-brand.
Homeware: Homeware will always be a popular thing to buy. I don’t want to think about how much I’ve spent on homeware since I’ve had my new office! Unique and interesting homeware could be an amazing option.
Coaching services: This is one you might need additional qualifications for but coaching services are incredibly popular. I had life coaching and business coaching in 2020 and 2021 and it completely changed my life!
I love buying from online and small businesses and have bought a lot of products from the above categories in the past! Small businesses offer such amazing service, value and quality and a sale from a small business can literally make someone’s day!
