The several restrictions in place may have made the typical restaurant and cinema dates off-limits, but you can use this as an excuse to get creative and try something new. If you aren’t sure how to mark the day while being confined to your home, read on to find out how to celebrate it in style.
Breakfast in bed
It’s a classic for a reason. Everybody loves being woken up to a delicious breakfast in bed with a hot drink. But don’t settle for a piece of toast, go the extra mile by making a stack of pancakes or eggs benedict. If cooking isn’t your strong suit, order an impressive meal from a local café. Don’t leave the washing up for them to do either; let them relax while you take care of it.

Add some culture to your day by taking a virtual tour of a superb museum or art gallery in another country such as the Guggenheim Museum in New York or the Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam.
At-home spa day
If your ideal day is at a spa, recreate the experience at your home. Set the scene with cosy lighting, scented candles, calming music, and glasses of bubbly. Order or make face masks for DIY facials and purchase massage oils to give each other back massages. For ultimate relaxation, end the spa day with a guided meditation using mindfulness apps.
Fireworks display
