To some of us, associating Valentine’s Day with lavish gifts, romantic trips away or expensive meals just isn’t realistic or doable. Unfortunately, we’re not all in a position to be splashing that sort of money out on one day. If you are, then that’s great and I hope you find an amazing way to celebrate the day but for everyone else, I’ve compiled a list of either cheap or free and generally easy and low-key ways you can celebrate Valentine’s Day this year if you’re a bit stuck for ideas. I’m not a huge lover of Valentine’s Day (maybe if I was being whisked off to Monaco, I would be!) but it’s always nice to do something nice, right?
Valentine’s Day can mean different things to everyone – and there’s certainly no right or wrong way to go about the day (apart from crapping on other people’s happiness – don’t do that). If you don’t celebrate it, that’s cool. If you do, that’s cool too. I fall somewhere in-between those two poles. I’ve never gone “all out” on Valentine’s Day but if I’m with someone, I like to acknowledge it in some small way. Maybe making dinner that evening or letting them chose the movie? Because sometimes, small gestures can mean a lot too. Valentine’s Day doesn’t always mean lavish gifts or fancy meals for everyone.
I got in touch with Made With Love designs – a stationary, cards and gifts company who were looking for people to review their range of luxury Valentine’s Day cards. Now, although I’m not being a huge “Valentine’s Day do-er” myself – there’ll be no over the top gift giving or celebrations over here – I’m not opposed to giving cards, not just to romantic partners, as a way of saying, ‘Hey, I love ya!’ So I’m thrilled to be reviewing these gorgeous cards on my blog today.
Okay guys, where is this year going? It seems like only yesterday I was sitting here saying I couldn’t believe it was the end of January and here we are – another month down the line! I hope all your Februaries have been wonderful and had a lovely Valentines Day (if you celebrate it) and of course pancake day! Here’s what’s been going on in my booky world this month.
