I might not be the most fashionable person but like most people, I am a person that loves Autumn. The weather, the colours, the changing of the seasons and the new energies that a new season brings – ugh, I love it all! Although Winter will always have my heart as my favourite season, Autumn comes a close second and I’m particularly enjoying it this year after an incredibly long, hot and unbearable Summer that we had here in the UK. Out with the shorts and in with the leggings and jumpers, I’m back to where I’m feel most like me and I think that shows with how motivated and inspired I am in the Autumn compared to the past 4 months. I’m not about to start bombarding you with information about what to wear this fall (because quite frankly, it’s up to you babes) I’m going to share some of my closest essentials – and home essentials – for this time of the year!
I think subscription boxes are one of the most common things you see being reviewed on blogs these days. From beauty, food, books and even period care boxes, there seems to be a subscription box for absolutely anything you could possibly want. Beauty subscription boxes are certainly the most popular of the lot with the big giants like Birchbox and Glossybox uk cropping up everywhere you look. However the one main let down of these boxes which I see time and time again in people’s reviews is when they receive a box with a few products they wouldn’t use in it. That’s always been my main reason for never going ahead and paying for a subscription of a beauty subscription box because I’m worried that the products won’t be for me and it’ll be a waste of money (I’m not just tight but you get my reasoning).
Ever since I was 12 or 13 years old and entered my “grunger” phase of life, I have loved eyeliner. Granted, my eyeliner looks have changed quite dramatically over the years and whilst I no longer look like a literal panda, I do still enjoy using eyeliners of different brands and shades. I mostly only use it if I’m going out out and I definitely use it less in the Spring and Summer (because let’s face it, my hay fever is so damn bad it’ll get rubbed off within 10 minutes anyway) but I still like experimenting with different looks and colours.
I love shoes. I’m not a huge fashionista (okay it’s clear by the fact that I just used the word ‘fashionista’ that I’m not one at all) but I do love shoes. I think they can totally make an outfit, jazz it up or tone it down and I also think shoes can give a great indication of the type of person you are. Who’s the famous person that said you can tell a lot about a man by his shoes? (If you know, do let me know otherwise it’s going to drive me spare). Looking back, Carrie Bradshaw might have been incredibly annoying but there’s no denying that her shoe closet was to die for! Now I might not know anything about designers, but I do know that I have a pretty swoon-worthy wish list from Uppersole shoes to share with you today.

Today I’m fortunate enough to team up with ADEXE to share with you a beautiful watch from their new range, as part of their Your Time is Now campaign. Before I get into nattering away about the watch itself, I wanted to discuss the theme of time and owning the time you have. Because not only is that a powerful message to send out but also one that got me thinking quite a bit and ended up with me reflecting on my year so far and contemplating whether I’ve taken ownership of the time I’ve had, utilized it and declared that my time is now. I’m not one to compliment myself too often (I’m far too awkward for that) but I came to the conclusion that the answer, is yes.
I love short breaks away – especially staycations. I rarely go on long, lavish holidays anymore, instead opting for a weekend here and a few days there in different parts of the U.K (although if I had the means to, I definitely would treat myself to a lavish holiday somewhere nice!) However I’ve learnt that the packing process of a short break or a weekend away isn’t any less stressful than any other holiday. You’ll still forget something. You’ll still pack too much and hardly wear any of it. And you’ll always pack for the wrong season, with the unpredictability of the U.K weather. But where’s the fun if something doesn’t at least go a little bit wrong?! Today I’m going to share some of my ultimate essentials for a weekend away!
Skincare is something most of us think about daily and something that has definitely become more of an importance in our general upkeep and even within our self-care routines. I don’t have a particularly fascinating past when it comes to my skin and skincare; as a teenager, my skin was okay with no major problems, thankfully. It was only since I hit my early 20’s, when I started on a new contraceptive pill when I started to get acne which bothered me enough to go to the doctors. I’ve tried a shed load of different brands and products throughout the years; full on skincare routines with cleansers, toners, moisturizers and an array of creams down to soap and water. But I’ve yet to find something that works – I mean genuinely works – for my skin.
