April Wrap Up: NetGalley, New Books & Not Feeling Well

And we’re back here again! Another month gone; and although it’s not been the best month ever personally as I was struck down with a rotten cold for 2 weeks after not having a cold in 3 years, I have read some amazing books, taken part in #PaperbackMonth along with a bunch of other bloggers and started a few of my 33 Before 33 challenges including, reading all the books on my bookcase and taking 1 photo a day of something that makes me happy for an entire year. But anyway, onto the books!

What I’ve Received + Won

Publishers: The Traitor by Jonathan Holt, Echopraxia by Peter Watts and The Atlantis Gene by A.G Riddle (I’ve been spoilt by Head of Zeus this month, so massive thank you for all these surprise review copies!) and Conspiracy of Blood and Smoke (Prisoner of Night and Fog Book 2) by Anne Blankman (Headline)

Won in giveaways: The Vintage Guide to Love and Romance by Kirsty Greenwood (Thank you to Agi!) and If You Could See Me Now by Cecelia Ahern (Thanks to Sharon, which I won in her Irish Fiction event on her blog!)

NetGalley: Game of Scones by Samantha Tonge, Wellies and Westies by Cressida McLaughlin, Someone Out There by Catherine Hunt and Don’t Turn Around by Caroline Mitchell

What I’ve Read + What I’m Currently Reading

Currently reading: Tiny Acts of Love by Lucy Lawrie

Read in April: Just The Way You Are by Lynsey James (Review), Ivy Lane by Cathy Bramley (Review), Wellies and Westies by Cressida McLaughlin (Review) and Where Rainbows End by Cecelia Ahern.

As you can see, I’ve been so into Chick Lit and Women’s Fiction this month! I just can’t get enough of these cute, quirky stories with lovable characters and gorgeous pastel covers!

What I’m Planning On Reading Next Month

Considering I’m not going to be at home for 2 weeks of next month, I decided my Kindle books would be more convenient and what better time to try and get through my NetGalley books? I’ve also agreed to take part in Sophie and Suzanne’s NetGalley challenge this month. I’m really looking forward to these 3 books!

Miscellaneous

This month saw in World Night Book which I was a volunteer for, for the first year! World Book Night is a non-profit organisation aiming to encourage reading and volunteers are sent a box of books to then hand out and give away! I ran a giveaway on my blog and also donated some of the books to my local animal sanctuary. This month, I also did a post on 33 things I want to do before I’m 33, which I’ve already started working through and am super excited about! I also used NetGalley for the first time this month, after being signed up for 2 years and never using it!

Blogging and books aside, this month hasn’t been all that eventful; my boyfriend and I were both suffering with an awful cold for a good 2 weeks (even writing this I’m still coughing) which put a lot of things on halt. Fortunately we’re both feeling better now, which is good especially as it’s just in time for our holiday on the 8th May! Which I’m hoping to do some travel posts about when I get back.

How was your April? Did you enjoy some of the gorgeous sunny days we had? What books did you receive or read this month? Let me know!
