AD – This post contains pr samples but all thoughts are my own
My garden office was complete and ready for me to work in in around March this year. It’s been absolutely wonderful and hands down one of the best decisions I’ve ever made for my career. I love the peace and quiet. I love the fact I look out over the back of my garden, with trees and flowers, greenery and all the wildlife. I love that the décor is exactly how I like it. What I don’t like?
Cleaning it.
I did NOT anticipate how messy and dirty my office would get. Considering I’m a pretty clean person, if I do say so myself. I hate mess and I always tidy up after myself. I’m never rolling around in dirt or spilling food down myself. But for some reason, the second I step into my office, it’s like BAM. Here’s a mess for you.
Which isn’t ideal because my office is my work space and I want to use it to, you know, work. Not be tidying up every 10 minutes.
But I guess it’s a common thing, for any professional who gets a new office space. It’s a new space that you have to learn to work with. So that’s exactly what I’ve been doing. I’ve been establishing a Summer cleaning routine for my office, so I can always stay on top of the mess and the dirt. Yuck.
Introducing the VAX ONEPWR Glide
To help me do this, last month I was sent the VAX ONEPWR Glide and let me tell you, it has been an absolute GODSEND for my office cleaning routine. The VAX ONEPWR Glide is a hard floor cleaner which vacuums, washes and dries your hard floors whilst also killing 99.9% of bacteria. COVID… you have met your match.
The machine is suitable for wood laminates, stone, vinyl, ceramic tiles and hardwood floors which are popular options for homes these days, due to children, pets and how easy they are to clean. But with the ONEPWR Glide, that gets even EASIER!
In the ONEPWR, it’s twin-tank technology mixes VAX solution and clean water throughout use, which efficiently extracts dirt and kills 99.9% of bacteria, that is lifted away by its advanced multi-surface brushroll and collected in its dirty water tank. Once you’ve finished washing your hard floors, its mess free auto-clean system rinses the machine, leaving it ready for use.
How did we get on with the VAX ONEPWR Glide?
Well.
Wonderfully.
I have absolutely no faults or complaints with this machine. I am over the moon with it – as is my Mum – and we’re both going to be getting a lot of use out of it. The instructions were painfully easy to follow, with a simple step by step guide for set up, using the machine and cleaning.
Within 5 minutes (after giving the battery a good charge) we were ready to roll! (Pun intended)
It’s quite a heavy machine but it’s such amazing quality. However with a machine this advanced you’d think it would be harder to use but it’s really not. It has an on and off button as well as two modes; high power and eco. Eco if you want a longer run with the battery. And one trigger on the handle – which distributes the water.
You’re in control over when and how often you release the water trigger. So obviously if you were cleaning a smaller room, you wouldn’t need as much. Your water tank of fresh water and solution gradually gets emptier as the tank at the front of the machine fills up with the dirty water and whatever else it’s picked up off the floor.
As you can see from this (disgusting) photo, it WORKS.
I was absolutely shocked when I saw the colour of this water and this was just from a 10 minute quick clean of our kitchen. And not even the whole kitchen at that.
AND this was 2 days after my Mum had mopped the floor.
I think it’s safe to say mopping is now going to be a thing of the past for us *gags*.
I mean, this is disgusting, right? Did you know how many bacteria could be living on your hard floors! Environmental Health Practitioner Dr Lisa Ackerley says, “When using a mop and bucket to clean your hard surface floor, you could call the task ‘dirtying’ rather than cleaning, as by the end of the job, it is quite possible you are making the floor dirtier rather than cleaner!”
The VAX ONEPWR Glide will set you back around £249.99. So it’s certainly not a cheap piece of kit but I think if you can afford it, it’s definitely worth it if your home has predominantly hard floors! It makes cleaning them SO easy, effortless and most importantly, you have the safe knowledge that you’re putting the health of your family first!

So what’s in my Summer office cleaning routine?
Using my VAX ONEPWR Glide every week
I mean, of course. After everything I said above how could it not be in my routine? I’ll be cleaning my office floor once a week for SURE with my VAX ONEPWR Glide.
Tidying up after myself every night when I leave the office
This is something I’ve got out of the habit of doing because sometimes I just want to get out of the office and go and watch Netflix. But I’ll definitely be making this more of a priority now.
A polish of furniture and my book case once a week
I love a good polish and I haaaate seeing dust gather on things, so a weekly polish of my furniture and especially my bookcase, is a definite! Books unfortunately gather a lot of dust!
Washing my welcome mat and other materials once a week
I have a welcome mat which is handy for wiping my feet however sometimes my dog wanders into my office as well so I need to take into the account the potential bacteria he might be dragging in, which is likely to have embedded itself in my welcome mat. Ick.
Ensuring there’s good circulation in my office by opening windows
Summer is a great time for getting those windows wide open and good circulation is also great for bacteria. So combined with all the above, I’ll also be letting that fresh Summer air in more!
Emptying my bin every day!
Well, on the days that it needs emptying anyway. I don’t always have anything to put in it but after my boyfriend came into my office other day and say 5 chocolate wrappers sitting in my bin from the past week, it was a bit embarrassing and yes, I need to empty my bin more.
How do you keep your office space clean and tidy? What’s in your cleaning routine? Any tips? Let me know!
