4 Different Types of Holidays I’d Love To Go On

ad // I worked it out the other day that it’s been over 10 years since I’ve been abroad and been on a plane. The last time I went on a plane was in the Summer of 2011, to Bulgaria with my friends. The last time I went abroad was November 2011 to Disneyland Paris with my then boyfriend. It’s safe to say, I am CRAVING a holiday like nothing else.

I could go on about this for some time and the negative impact that being in the same place has on my mental health but this post isn’t about my declining mental health. I certainly can’t imagine I’m the only one that has missed holidays or feels a bit stuck and stagnant after the last few years of the pandemic.

Whilst I don’t really travel a lot, I do wish I did more of it. I’m probably not one to pack a bag, hop on a plane and not come back for 8 months but I do want to get out there and do more stuff and experience more holidays. Especially now that I’m over my anxiety disorder and don’t have an excuse anymore.

In this post I wanted to share a bunch of different types of holidays I’d love to go on. Or go on again – because I have been on some of these types of holidays already. Although I would absolutely kill for a relaxing, all-inclusive, doing nothing beach holiday right now, I think there’s plenty of other types of trips to enjoy as well!

Airbnb and city breaks are a fantastic way to get more smaller trips in throughout the year, at a really reasonable price. And did you know there are companies like GuestReady help property owners increase their income with short-term rental solutions, while reducing your workload at the same time?

They manage the day-to-day operations of Airbnbs and other short-term rental apartments, including online listing, photography, pricing management, guest communication, cleaning, laundry, toiletries and check-in of guests. So if you have a property to rent out yourself, this is a fantastic way to make more money – for less work.

They have developed a comprehensive pricing strategy that reflects factors such as city-wide occupancy rates, travel trends, property location, events, seasonality, competitor pricing and more and they will ensure that your revenues are maximized throughout the year.

So here are 4 different types of holidays I’d love to go on:

Road trip in a motorhome

I would LOVE to go on a road trip. The NC 500 is high on my list of places I want to go, although road tripping around another country would be incredible too. Owning a motorhome would be perfect for this sort of holiday because then you would have some small comforts at your disposal, as well as saving money on hotels all the time.

My boyfriend’s parents owned a motorhome for some time a little while ago. It was a LOVELY motorhome and my boyfriend and I slept in there once or twice, which was super cozy and comfortable. Unfortunately, they didn’t get to use it as much as they’d have liked though. If this is something on your bucket list, why not visit The Motorhome Insurer to compare motorhome insurance quotes.

Skiing

This is one I’ve actually done – but a longggg time ago. It was a trip with the school; it wasn’t the whole school that went, it was only opened up to around 40 of us and it cost a BOMB. I’m so grateful to my parents (and my best friend’s parents at the time) who managed to get is onto that trip because it was amazing.

However I would love to go skiing again and have the freedom to explore without being stuck with a teacher, an instructor and with a strict timetable. Obviously they have to do that with school trips but it’d be lovely to go again without all the constraints.

A cruise

I’ve never been on a cruise and I’d absolutely LOVE to go. My boyfriend and his family went on a Norwegian cruise when he was younger and he said it was absolutely fantastic. I love the water and the sea; I would have no qualms about being on it for a week or two. In fact, I can imagine I would find it extremely relaxing.

I was set on a Disney cruise for a while, I even found the perfect one that I was hoping to do this year. But after doing a bit of research recently and watching some YouTube reviews of Disney cruises, I don’t think it’s for me. I’d much rather just go to Disneyland and then enjoy a different type of cruise.

River cruise holiday

Another one on the water and also one that I’ve done before twice but I would LOVE to get back on the river for another holiday soon. We’ve been to the Norfolk Broads twice, using the same company to book our boat with and it’s been wonderful both times. There is nothing more relaxing than the slow pace of life on the river.

If you fancy a boating holiday on the Norfolk Broads, you can find my post on the Barnes Brinkcraft hire company as well as a general post about one of the river holidays themselves, which I wrote a few years ago.

There are so many more different types of holidays I would love to go on; theme parks, beach resorts, food tours and more! I really hope that now the world (well, most of it) has opened up again I can actually get out there (even if it’s by myself) to experience more stuff.

Have you been on any of these types of holidays? Which types of holidays would you LOVE to go on? Let me know in the comments!
