Spring Cleaning Activities for You and Your Blog

Over the course of a year, clutter – both physical and non-physical clutter – can build up fast. And although the title of this post says “Spring” cleaning and it’s also August (almost September) when this is going out to you, it’s important to remember that these Spring cleaning activities can be done (and should be done) throughout the entire year!

However Spring is definitely one of my favourite seasons; with it’s warmer weather, blooming flowers and new life, it’s also a great time to go inwards and reflect and rejuvenate. I don’t know about anyone else but I always feel motivated in Spring. It’s always the time of year where I want to make more plans, start a new project, set some goals and just generally have a shift in energy.

And being a blogger with blogging being a big part of my life (and yours too, probably, if you’re reading this!) I wanted to focus on some simple, quick and easy Spring cleaning activities that will benefit you AND your blog!

Spring isn’t the only time for blossoming, change and for getting rid of anything that doesn’t serve us anymore. Whether that’s mentally, spiritually, emotionally or physically. So if you’re feeling a bit stagnant, stuck or need a little energy shift, then it’s worth checking out some of these quick and easy Spring cleaning activities for you and your blog! (Or whatever time of year…)

Declutter your space

Feeling a bit frazzled and out of kilter? Your space might be making it worse. Whether you blog in an office, from your bed or on the couch, it’s worth having a little de-clutter of your space to help clear your mind and making it easier for you to function and concentrate!

Get rid of anything that isn’t working

Now that your space is clear, it’s time to focus on your blog. Did you pick up a new habit in the New Year? Did you join a new blogging group? Did you decide to branch out into different topics only to find that you’re not actually enjoying it? Whatever it is, drop anything that isn’t working. Leave it behind.

Brainstorm and plan content for the coming months

It’s not always about throwing stuff away and de-cluttering, right? If you’re doing that, then you’re also making room for the new stuff into your life. Which includes ideas! So now is also a great time to plan and brainstorm content for the coming months. I don’t mean get it all written within a day but just getting those ideas down is a great idea!

Get organized

Which brings me nicely onto this next point – organization! My favourite thing in the world! If you’ve been wanting to get more organized, now is the time to start. If your current organization method isn’t quite working, bin it and try something new or adapt it to suit you.

Re-write your about me page / disclaimer / privacy notice if it’s out of date

I took a look at my about me page a few weeks ago and almost vomited. It was so horribly out of date and cringe and I couldn’t believe I’d left it like that for so long. Your blog and the blogging world in general is always changing and evolving so make sure your blog keeps up to reflect those changes – and your own personal evolution!

Make a plan

Going forward, where do you want your blog to go? Do you want to start working with brands? Write about different topics? Turn it into a business? Whatever the answer, make a plan. Whatever you want, write it down. Where do you want to be in 1 month? 1 year? 5 years? Manifest the heck out of that what you want for your blog and go and get it!

Set some blogging goals and intentions

And how are you going to get to where you want to be in your plan? By setting goals and intentions and working towards it gradually, of course. I’m all for small, achievable goals that we know with a bit of hard work, we can cross off our list. Start setting small goals for the week or the month and tie them in with your intentions.
