Adding in small, mindful and intentional rituals and routines into my week has been super beneficial for me and my well-being. I also love having that element of structure, which as a Type A Virgo, isn’t surprising. Over the last year of coaching, I’ve become more and more in tune with what I need and what my inner voice is telling me. And during that time, I established my Sunday night ritual.
I’ve already established an amazing end of the month ritual, which I created a full guide about, that you can grab in my freebie library when you’ve signed up to my mailing list. This ritual is incredible and really sets you up for a more grounded, intentional and focused month.
And once and month is great but when it comes to your non-negotiables and the things that keep you ticking along happily, there definitely needs to be a more regular routine in place. Which is where this Sunday night ritual comes in perfectly!
I started this Sunday night ritual at the beginning of the year and have kept it up most weeks since. It really is such a beautiful and beneficial part of my usually very busy and work-driven weeks. It’s an amazing way to decompress, switch off and clear the slate for a brand new week.
This Sunday night ritual is for everyone. It doesn’t really matter what your job is or what you do, I think we can all benefit from something like this at the end of a week!
So I want to share with you the exact things that I do during this little Sunday night routine. If you’re thinking of establishing something like this yourself, then take what works for you and leave what doesn’t. The most important part?
Is that it feels good for YOU.
So what do I do during my Sunday night ritual?
First, I set the scene
Before you get started, you’re going to want to set the scene and find a cozy space. I use my office, which is in the garden in a separate building. So it’s usually super quiet and somewhere I won’t be interrupted. Wherever you choose to go, you might want to add blankets, candles, incense or crystals.
Then I start my Sunday night ritual with some Yoga
I always start with some Yoga. In fact, any time I do any sort of “ritual” I always start with Yoga because it gets me out of my head and into my body and allows my mind to be clearer afterwards. It also feels good and allows me to tend to things that are sore. New to Yoga? You might find these posts helpful:

Listen to a Future Self Meditation
When I started my life coaching with Michelle from Journey To Bliss, I was introduced to her beautiful Future Self Meditation. This is a meditation that focuses on connecting with your future self and picturing your dream life in immense detail. And it’s one of my favourite parts of the week!
My Sunday night routine wouldn’t be complete without a future self meditation. I only do this meditation once a week as it’s quite long but Sunday feels like the perfect day for me as it allows me to step into that future version of myself for the week to come. Check out YouTube for some future self meditations!
Script my ideal week ahead
After I’ve meditated, I’ll get out my notebook and script my week. I never type this up, as there’s so much power in a pen and paper. If you’re new to scripting, it basically means to write and express gratitude for your upcoming week as if it’s already happened and it’s an incredibly powerful manfiestation tool.
If you’re interested in finding out more about scripting, this post from The Manifestation Collective is extremely helpful for beginners!
Spend a few quiet moments alone
So by this point, I’ve done everything in my routine that I wanted to do but before I head back into the house or before you emerge from your safe and cozy space, it’s nice to just spend a few quiet moments alone. Sometimes I’ll just sit. Sometimes I’ll read a book. Sometimes I’ll go outside and watch the sky. It’s totally up to you!
And end my Sunday night ritual with a full skincare routine
And finally, I love to end my routine with a gorgeous skincare routine. I like to really take my time with this one; something I don’t often do with skincare. The full works go on, all the best creams and masks and I’ll also take the time to moisturize my body as well. Again, something I don’t often do.
Of course the end of your ritual might look a little different. You might choose to have a bath or give your feet a massage or something else entirely. But whatever you do, make it soulful and make it count.
My Sunday’s are never, ever filled with planning. I never spend my day off on Sunday meal prepping or preparing my calendar or doing a shop or anything of that nature because I feel like it’s so important for us to take a full rest day – if we can. We only have enough energy for one day at a time.
Will you be establishing your own routine? Do you already have your own? I’d love to hear what you like to do on a Sunday to wind down and get prepared for the week ahead!
