I am a very British person. And being a very British person, you can take an educated guess that I love tea. Honestly, is there anything better than spending the time to make yourself a perfect cup of tea – knowing that it’s for you and only you. Getting yourself some biscuits to dunk and settling into your favourite chair or your bed, putting on your favourite film or YouTuber and relishing in the fact that this is all for you. Tea is a marvellous thing and although that sounded a bit OTT, that’s genuinely how I feel sometimes when I make myself a cup of tea!
However… when it comes to tea, I am not very adventurous. Actually, I am the least adventurous person ever. I stick to my good, old-fashioned builders tea with 2 sugars and a dash of milk and don’t even think about the other tea possibilities which are out there. Until I was given the chance to work with We Are Tea – an independent, ethical tea brand who very kindly sent me some different flavoured teas to try which were very much out of my comfort zone.
I really liked be packaging of these individual teabags; I thought they looked very sophisticated and I like the coloured fonts on the front too. I think packaging can say a lot about a brand and I very much thought that they’re a company that work to high standards because of the look of their packaging. Never underestimate the little details folks!
They sent me 7 different teas; – which was very lovely of them and I like that they sent me a wide range of teas which are quite obviously going to be wildly different from each other. That way, I can really get the full tea experience! Having not really ever drank these types of teas before, I did learn after the first 2 that I definitely needed to keep the bag in the water for longer than I was doing. I made myself the Super Berry one and my mum the Moroccon Mint flavour and whilst they both smelt very strong, the taste wasn’t quite as. But I definitely think this was down to me not leaving the bag in for long enough. I’m new to this!
So I did try all these teas they sent me; I really liked the Super Berry one (despite not pkeeping the bag in for long enough), the Chamomile one I just couldn’t get to grips with. I have tried Chamomile tea before – like once – and I didn’t like it then so I think that one is just down to personal prefernces. With these fruity and healthier tea, I definitely think that it takes a while toget used to them. Especially afer being so used to “normal” tea for so long. But I’ve heard the health benefits of Green tea, Chamomile tea and a whole bunch of others and it would seem almost a shame not to even try and like them for those reasons alone.
My expericne with We Are Tea has been a positive one – they’re a wonderful brand who are super helpfula nd friendly and always active on social media if you ever need to find them! Their range of teas is spectacular; definitely one to suit ever taste and need. As for me, I’ll keep trying to like these more “exotic” teas and I’ll certainly be trying some more.
So… question of the day: what teas do you like? Are you unadventurous like me or do you like a whole range of tea?
