Not only is everything taken care of in terms of travel and accommodation but there are plenty of activities to enjoy onboard between excursions to some of the best destinations in the world. Here are three cruise options that may just tempt you into booking.
Caribbean cruising
The Caribbean is iconic when you think of cruises. The multitude of different islands make it the perfect place to visit for families as there is something to entertain visitors of all ages.
If you have the opportunity to stop in Barbados then you must head to the breathtaking Bathsheba Beach. This awe-inspiring stretch of golden sand is a haven for sun-seekers with a dramatic backdrop of rugged coastline.
For those who are looking to burn off a bit of energy, then Dunn’s River Falls in Jamaica is a must-see. With the aid of local guides, you can climb the impressive falls and swim in the crystal-clear pool at the bottom.
Alaskan adventures
If you would rather escape to cooler climes, then why not try an Alaskan cruise? Alaska is famed for its large expanses of uninhabited glacial landscape, making for impressive photos to show people when you get home.
Juneau stands on the edge of one of the largest wilderness areas in America so there is plenty to do. Whale watching is an activity on many bucket lists and in Juneau, you can make it happen. The best time to spot the marine behemoths is between April and November in Glacier Bay. You may even be lucky enough to catch a glimpse of an orca pod hunting for seals.
Mediterranean marvels
The Mediterranean encompasses a variety of different cruising destinations so you will be spoiled for choice if you book a cruise here.
Cities such as Barcelona, Rome, Athena and Dubrovnik manage to seamlessly blend a rich history with modern appeal too. And if Dubrovnik is somewhere on your agenda, you might want to consider a Dubrovnik to Split cruise, to add a bit of luxury into your trip.
You can take your time wandering around historical sites such as the Colosseum, the Pantheon and Fort Lovrijenac, soaking up the tales of times long past.
On days when you want to relax a bit more, Mediterranean beaches are stunning. You can soak up the sun and sample local cuisine in the local coastal restaurants.
Many Mediterranean cruises cater to children, meaning you can be sure that everyone will be happy. Some P&O cruises offer water parks on board as well as cinemas showing a range of classics and new releases. Whatever your destination, you can be sure your kids will sleep well from the number of activities they have packed into their day!
