ad | The transition from one season into the next can be an exciting time for fashion and for our closets. Whether you’re finally able to wrap up in your favourite jumper after a long and sweaty Summer or you’re packing your coats away for another year. Fashion has become a hallmark for the passing of time and the passing of seasons.

We also don’t want to get too hasty – especially in the UK where we can seemingly experience 4 seasons in one week! – and completely revamp our wardrobes as soon as the sun peaks through the clouds or there’s the slightest bit of frost on the car in the mornings.
Having a transitional wardrobe is an excellent way to combat that. To be prepared for the new season ahead whilst also holding back *just in case*. Because in England, there’s ALWAYS a just in case when it comes to the weather!
Getting new seasonal pieces in your wardrobe is super exciting, so I’m thrilled to have teamed up with Very.co.uk to highlight some pieces which scream SPRING to me but can also be easily transitioned from day to night and also throughout the seasons.
A day-to-night outfit in Spring can be tricky. It’s warm enough in the day to get away with a light cardigan – maybe even no cardigan or jacket at all – but you can definitely still feel the chill when the sun goes down. You don’t quite want to wear sandals yet but also boots are pushing it.
It’s definitely about balance and the pieces you choose for your wardrobe during those transitional times can help with that! And when it comes to the day to night transition part, don’t forget the smallest things can make the difference, such as accessories! You can find some really sweet girls jewellery for your teenage daughter if you’re having a mother and daughter day as well!
So here’s a quick run-down of the pieces I chose:
Tommy Hilfiger Cropped Wool Button Jacket
I’m already a fan of Tommy Hilfiger clothing and have a few pieces at home so it was nice to add to that collection and this jacket was RIGHT up my street! I love the colour and the gold buttoned details. The inner lining is beautiful and on brand with the famous Tommy logo on the sleeve. Very do an excellent range of Women’s coats and jackets.
I really like the relaxed boxy fit to this jacket as well. It’s got enough room to potentially wear a jumper underneath if it is particularly cold but also looks really relaxed and cool thrown over a t-shirt – or a cami top, as you’ll see from the piece I chose. I know I will be getting a lot of use out of this jacket.
Tommy Hilfiger Court Logo Trainers
I’m sure you can sense a theme here but another Tommy Hilfiger piece that jumped out at me was the court logo trainers. I already have a pair of Tommy trainers at home in black, which I’m starting to wear to death and as fashionable trainers go (as opposed to those designed for running / exercise), they’re really quite comfy. So I’m thrilled to have another pair in my collection.
I love the sweet pastel colour of these. Although I certainly won’t be wearing these to go for a long walk around the countryside in, they would do perfectly for a dinner or a night out at the theatre if you didn’t fancy wearing heels.
River Island Relaxed Straight Jean
You really can’t beat a River Island jean. They are probably the only shop I’ve found in which the jeans fit me everywhere on my body I need them to fit me and they’re always so comfy. River Island are my go-to for jeans so there was no way I was going to pass these up.
I really like light denim and definitely feel like it’s a more Spring-like colour if you’re going for a jean as opposed to dark blue. I feel like it makes everything feel bright and fresh and paired with the other items I chose, the perfect Spring outfit.
River Island Lace Insert Cami Top
A white cami top is a staple of any wardrobe, especially for Spring and Summer. Although I love myself a plain white vest or t-shirt, this sweet cami with it’s laced cut outs just makes the whole outfit look a bit more feminine and sweeter.
Probably the only piece here which you could only get away with wearing in Spring or Summer but I’m still very happy with my choice. You could be searching all day for Women’s tops and there were so many lovely ones I could have picked.
Daytime Spring styling
So I chose each piece to put together as a full outfit, after I had in mind the sort of look I wanted to go for. Relaxed but smart with a little but of luxury which I think I succeeded in quite well with the both the mix of high street brand and designer as well as the style of the pieces.
Arguably the jacket is the most luxurious with everything else being super chilled and relaxed but together, I think they make a really lovely outfit which is perfect for Spring.
The jacket is thick enough to keep you warm enough but with just the cami on underneath you don’t have to worry about getting too hot.
Night-time transition
I found a few ways to style these pieces up for an effortless day to night transition.
The first, as photographed above was swapping out the trainers for a pair of heels and swapping the cami top for a nicer (or fancier) top. I think this outfit would work well for drinks with the girls after work or perhaps a more relaxed romantic dinner.
I then opted for a slightly fancier again option, by swapping the jeans for a skirt and leaving the jacket as a focal point of the outfit.
This is definitely the more noticeable transition of the two but I do feel like you could dress up even more with this jacket as a throw on as it’s such a versatile piece and can easily elevate any outfit!
I hope this gives you a bit of food for thought on how you can transition from day to night now that we’re well on our way into Spring!

I like wardrobe items that have multiple looks or functions, and this is the perfect example! Everything looks great, and I love the colours!
