I know this topic has been done to absolute death on blogs and when I started writing more Disney related posts a couple of months ago, I thought I wouldn’t bother writing about my favourite films because like, does anyone really care? But after I put a poll out with a couple of Disney-related options on it, it turns out, that people do actually like reading these posts. If you’re a Disney fan, you’re going to be interested in what Disney things other Disney fans like – I assume!
If you cut open my veins (what a charming way to start a post), you’d probably find fairy dust instead of blood. Disney is in my blood and I’ve loved it ever since I was 5 years old and my parents took me to Disneyland. Granted, I wasn’t big enough to go on much but I can imagine it was an very magical time. Like most Disney fans, the movies play a huge part in that childhood (and adulthood) passion. Today I want to talk about those movies which aren’t always raved about – like Frozen or The Lion King. The hidden gems. The ones that often get over-looked. I absolutely adore all of these movies and can’t believe they’re not rated as highly as some others!
I was talking to my friend recently about Disney princesses and other females in Disney films, when I mentioned that Pocahontas, Mulan and Esmeralda were my favourites when I was little. ‘What?!’ she exclaimed, ‘Those are the worst ones!’
This got me thinking about Disney films which I love but don’t seem to have won over as many people as the BIG Disney films. These are the films which I will watch over and over, know the songs off by heart and adore the storyline and characters, but which would be easy to forget about if you visited the Disney Store or any of the Disney parks because they don’t seem to get a look in when it comes to merchandise, characters or shows.
