Professional Touches

If you want your blog to attract more people and make you enough money to live comfortably off, you need to make it more professional. So, if you’re using a subdomain, it’s time to register a cheap domain name online, and if you’re using a basic free WordPress theme, it’s time to invest in a unique theme for your blog. These are simple and cheap, changes to make, but they will help to boost your image and bring more readers your way.

Learn the Basics of SEO

First and foremost, the content you write should be interesting, informative and unique, but if you want to gain enough readers to turn your blog into a booming business, it will also need to be search engine optimized. Obviously, if you want your blog to become a booming business, you need to monetize it. There are a number of ways you can do this, including affiliate links, paid reviews and Google ads, but not all of them will be suitable or profitable for you. Sadly, the only way to find out which things will work is through trial and error, so the sooner you get started, the sooner you’ll be able to optimize your blog for maximum moneymaking.

NOTE: It’s important to remember that your readers are of paramount importance, so don’t cover your blog in ads or write dishonest reviews., This will just turn your readers way and that a booming business does not make.

Advertise Your Services

If your blog is good, why not use it as a portfolio from which to gain clients? Making money from your blog is about more than ad clicks and affiliate links, it’s also about selling your services and setting yourself up as an authority, so if you don’t already have a services tab on your front page, set one up and offer all of your skills for hire, right now.

Invest

Last, but by no means least, you must invest in your blog like you would any other business, either by taking writing courses, developing products and courses to sell or streamlining your site so that it’s easier to use. The more you invest in your blog, the more you will get out of it.

Interact

If you want to make more than few dollars each week, you really do need to interact and engage with your readers. When you build up a real relationship with them, they are much more likely to trust your opinions, and that means they’re more likely to spend money via your affiliate links or on the courses you have designed. If they don’t trust you, they won’t buy, and they probably won’t read either.

Build a Brand

When you’ve got to grips with the basics of blogging to make money, you should really invest some time and effort into making your blog a brand. This can be as simple as using the same colors and themes across the entirety of your work, but you’ll make more money from your blog if your brand shines through in everything you write, your authenticity and the way you approach life.

Keep at It

I’ve saved this until last, but it is actually the most important factor in turning your blog into a booming business. All of the most successful bloggers got to where they are now by being persistent. It doesn’t matter how talented you are or how good your ideas are if you don’t put them into practice, so above and beyond everything else,  you need to stick with it. You need to keep publishing new posts even when no one’s reading and you think no one ever will. That is how you find true success and build a booming blogging business.
