ad // I absolutely love Autumn fashion. I love that it’s the time of year where you can start dressing up warm but you don’t necessarily always need to be bundled up with coats, hats, scarves and jumpers. Don’t get me wrong, I bloody love a jumper but I’m always quite uncomfortable in coats when I’m layered up.
But Autumn brings the best of both worlds, doesn’t it? You’re good with a quite knit or a stylish coat but you’re never too cold and layered up to really embrace the season and the wonderful fashion options that come with it! So in this post, we’re going to look and some super easy ways that you can dress up, accessorize and mix up your fashion for Autumn.
6 Easy Fashion Hacks for Autumn:
Take inspiration from the season
In terms of colours for knitwear, boots, coats etc, Autumn is THE SEASON where you can truly take inspiration from the season itself. The colours of Autumn translate beautifully into fashion. Think burgundy, burnt oranges, neutrals and forest greens. These sort of colours will allow you to embrace the season in what you’re wearing!
Bring out the chunky jewellery
I’m a big jewellery fan anyway and I think that chunky jewellery can seriously compliment fashion in the Autumn months. Autumn isn’t a season for dainty jewellery, unlike Spring and Summer where I prefer to wear delicate pendants. So chunkiness and hip hop jewelry is the way forward in Autumn! You might want to consider beautiful iced out pendants or if you’re a fella, a cuban link chain.
Mix up textures
Although it’s tempting to reach STRAIGHT for the knitwear in Autumn, you might want to back up and see which other textures are available to you and mix and match. A beautiful tartan mixed with a faux feather or a knit paired with denim. Try out the combinations and see which work and have fun with your experiments!
Don’t stray from dresses and skirts
Even though it’s getting chillier, skirts and dresses are a great option for Autumn and you can create some truly beautiful looks with these pieces. Maxi dresses are a fantastic option – or longer skirts – paired with a beautiful pair of knee high boots to keep your legs warm and a jacket. If you love wearing dresses, don’t let the weather stop you!
Take care with your footwear
Your footwear can really transform an outfit so it’s worth putting in a little extra love and attention into what you’re wearing on your feet when it comes to planning your Autumn outfits. Boots are ALWAYS a great option – ankle, knee high and everything in between – but stylish sneakers or chunky heels can also be a great addition.
Hats, hair and accessories
Hats are always great additions to Autumnal outfits – especially if you’re out and about and the weather is on the cooler side. But if you’re not a hat lover, then beautiful headscarves can be a great accessory for your hair. Either wrap it around your head in a beautiful bow or tie it around your scrunchie.

I’m so excited for autumn and getting out the snuggly jumpers and fluffy socks. This year I’m giving boots and dresses a go but I love the other ideas too! Thank you for the fashion advice!
Boots and dresses are a great combination!
Hi Jenny! Can’t agree more on the hats… a must!🙌🏼 And of course, any flannel or comfy sweater, always calling my name!🍂
Hats and sweaters are a must for sure!
Totally agree on the uncomfortableness of wearing heavy coats in the winter months. I love how in autumn your warmer knits and dresses get to be seen – not buried beneath a parka. I def need to build my chunky jewelry collection up too!

I totally agree, I hate wearing too many chunky layers, I feel so claustrophic and restricted!
I feel like Fall naturally lends itself (colours, textures, etc) to some really great fashion looks. I have yet to really get to grips with it all so this was really helpful, I like the idea of making more use of accessories — thanks for this!

One of the best parts about this season is brining out my boots. I also love wearing burgundy this time of year.
