collaborative post | You know when you look at your cluttered desk, your overflowing email inbox and your never ending to do list and think, “I need to be more organised”? I think most of us get to this stage every now and again and I am there!
With the chaos of moving into our new house behind us (yes, we made it in time for my birthday, which was great to tick off the list!), it’s time to focus on another area of my life that needs some serious tidying up: my organization skills.
I’ve always been the type of person who starts a to do list with things I’ve already done, just for the satisfaction of ticking them off. But let’s face it, that’s not real organization. So, here’s how you can really get more organized, read on to find out more.
- Embrace the Power of Lists
Whether it’s a daily to do list, a weekly planner, or a monthly goal sheet, there’s something incredibly satisfying about checking off tasks. Whenever you’re at a loose end you can check if there’s anything that needs doing, and knowing that everything you need to do is written down helps you feel in control of your life and gives you peace of mind that nothing is being missed.
- Prioritize Like a Pro
Figuring out what’s actually important can be tricky, do you often find yourself drowning in trivial tasks while the big stuff gets neglected? Start prioritizing like a pro- identify your top three most important tasks for the day and focus on those before anything else. It’s all about putting first things first. If you struggle, use job management software which can help you in your business and personal life.
- Declutter Your Digital Life
Is your digital life a hot mess. A gazillion unread emails, a chaotic desktop, and files scattered everywhere? If so it’s time for a digital declutter. Create folders, organize my emails, and delete those ancient files that serve no purpose other than taking up space.
- Set Clear Goals
Setting clear, achievable goals is the way forward. Whether it’s career goals, fitness goals, or personal development goals, Map out a plan to get there- and, of course, each goal will get its own dedicated list!
- Time Management 101
Time can have a sneaky way of slipping through our fingers. So take control with better time management.- shedule specific blocks of time for work, relaxation and, of course, dog cuddles (because dogs make everything better).
- Learn to Say No
Are you a chronic “yes” person? If so, chances are you tend to take on more than you can handle, which leads to overwhelm and chaos. It’s time to learn the art of saying no. Be more selective with commitments and make sure you have time for the things that truly matter.
All of these intentional steps lead to becoming more organized are centered around creating a more balanced and purposeful life.
Very good tips! Thank you for sharing!
