ad | There’s nowhere quite like London to experience a theatre show. I love the West End and attending the theatre in London, it’s always such a wonderful experience and excellent night, perhaps combined with a pre-show meal and a wander around the city before heading in to experience the delights of the stage.
When I lived just outside of London, a theatre show was a regular occurrence for me. A quick train into Liverpool Street and I was almost there, in the heart of the West End. But now I live in Lincolnshire, it won’t be quite as straight-forward for me to get into London to see shows anymore.
But when there’s something worth seeing, that definitely won’t stop me. I think going to see a show is a real special occasion, so making the most of the whole evening, even booking somewhere to stay, sounds like a wonderful idea in my books!
And as half term is fast approaching (I know, how are we here already?) if you’ve got your sights set on taking the family into London for a theatre production, hopefully this post will help you choose the perfect show!
You can check out the London Box Office for tickets for any of the shows featured in this post. February half term starts on Saturday 10th February, so you still have a couple of weeks to research shows and grab your tickets – but be quick! These shows are super popular and most good seats will sell out.
Here are some of the best family shows to book in London for this half term:

Wicked
I think it was pretty obvious that Wicked would be high up on this list. It’s THE show everyone’s seen or wants to see and I absolutely doesn’t disappoint. Every second is pure magical and this will be a show that’ll stick with you for a long time. I saw it over 10 years ago and can still remember the goose-bumps.
Back to the Future
Back to the Future is one of the more recent shows I’ve been in London and it’s without a doubt, one of the best. If you’re big lovers of the Back to the Future trilogy, it’s an absolute MUST-SEE. You’ll cry-laugh and be utterly amazed at the incredible production.
The Lion King
What kid doesn’t love The Lion King? It’s no surprise that this show is multi-award-winning. The production, props, puppets bring the story of The Lion King to life in front of our eyes and the musical score and choreography on top of that adds to the wow-factor of this incredible show.
Shrek the Musical
We all know and love the characters from Shrek. But what about seeing them on stage? Not only just on stage but singing too? Shrek the Musical continues to entertain families and children during every production and it should definitely be a contender for your show of February half term.
Frozen the Musical
Children and adults alike are spellbound by the incredible Frozen musical. If you have kids that love the film but haven’t seen the show yet, then this is definitely one to consider for your half term break theatre treat!
London Box Office is a reliable and convenient website to use to book all your theatre tickets online! Bookings take just minutes and you can secure the best seats to see your favourite shows.
They work closely with producers to also bring you discounted tickets and special offers on certain shows – definitely not something to be missed!
I saw Wicked last summer and adored it! It was even better than I imagined. I’ve also seen The Lion King which was really good, but it is so emotional x
Wicked is incredible isn’t it!
I have seen a show in London but it is on my bucket list. I have seen a few shows that have been on tour. Wicked is definitely my favorite musical. I would love to see it in London. Some of these shows sound amazing. Thank you for sharing.
Hope you get to see one in London!
I have never been to theatre show in London but I have in New York. It is super fun but very expensive. I imagine it is expensive but I guess there are always deals. All these shows sound super fun!

I can imagine London isn’t quite as expensive but it definitely depends on where you sit and the show yoh see x
I saw Wicked years ago, and I loved it! I’m definitely intrigued by Shrek the Musical and I think my daughter would enjoy it too!
I’d love to see Wicked again!
