January goals: How did I do?

We couldn’t believe that 2017 had been and gone and here we are already, at the end of January. Can you Adam and Eve it? I really do hope that you have had a positive start to the New Year, made some positive changes, done some fun things and are enthusiastic for the rest of the year ahead. I love January – even the cold weather, if you know me at all you’ll already know that I adore the cold! I love stepping into a New Year with the “anything can happen, it’s a brand new start” mindset and although that’s totally cliché and you certainly don’t need a new year in order to make changes in your life, for me, it helps and I always feel inspired and positive at this time of the year. So… Let’s see how well I put that into practice and how I did with my January goals!

January goals

It is January. That month that we literally just had like, 3 weeks ago. It is January… again. First of all, I want to wish you all a very happy and healthy New Year! I hope the end of 2017 saw you out well, whatever the year was like for you and I hope you’re feeling positive and enthusiastic about the year to come! I certainly am. Despite the end of the year being a bit meh and uneventful for me, 2017 as a whole wasn’t bad. I wrote about my highlights of the year here and I really can’t complain too much. But as always when a new year rolls around, I’m feeling motivated and inspired to tackle some brand new goals. But this year, I’m not going to set myself huge, unrealistic and un-achieveable goals for the entire year, I want to take it one month at a time. So here are my goals for January!

Supporting yourself & others this Christmas

I have a funny ol’ relationship with Christmas. As a kid, predictably, I loved it. Presents, food, fairy-lights, days off school – what kid wouldn’t? I don’t have any siblings and my family aren’t particularly close so even as a kid, Christmas was always a quiet affair. There was no huge parties or having dozens of people round. It was usually just my parents and my grandparents on my mum’s side who spent Christmas day at our house; my dad would take my Granddad to the Royal British Legion for a few hours (something he still does) and my mum, Nan and I would stay in, watch some crappy Christmas day TV, drink tea and eat chocolate. That was just Christmas to me. I never knew any different.

Readatohon Hospitals: Giving Every Child the Wonder of Books

If you follow me on Twitter or are friends with me on Facebook, you would have probably seen me flitting around talking about a fundraising event which is coming up at the end of the year. Myself, along with 6 others have joined forces to organise some online events in order to raise money for Readathon Hospitals, a charity that donate books to seriously ill children in hospitals all around the UK. We loved this charity and what they do and with all of us being book bloggers (and 1 author!) something to do with books was an absolute must. Continue reading

I know I’m a bit late to the party (what with it being 6 days into the new year already…) but I hope you all had a lovely Christmas and New Year I’d like to wish you all a very happy, healthy and successful 2015. I’m sure a lot of you have made your New Years resolutions already; I haven’t really given my resolutions much thought this year; rather things I’d like to do more/less of this year compared to last and places I’d like to go and things I’d like to do. I don’t buy into the whole, “New Year, New Me” fandango but I do believe that a new year is a perfect opportunity to start changing and shaping your life into how you want it.
